View Full Version : SH4 Questions about game and US Deluxe Edition

First, will there be a US deluxe edition? Secondly, I have heard some people complain that this game is being rushed. I am a huge sub sim fan, and I have owned pretty much everyone (SH1-3, AOD, CAOD, 688i, Dangerous Waters (never got Sub Command, but I heard it is very similar to Dangerous Waters)), anyway, how is this game similar/different than SH3 (besides the Pacific theater aspect), also, other than the Narwhal being excluded what are the other complaints against this new game?

Thanks

No. AudibleKnight made that quite clear: "This announcement is for the [US/Canadian] packaging which is available for a limited time. It is NOT a limited/special edition."

The SH4 Packaging Info thread is a sticky for good reason.

Your right, why not just have one long thread for every question. I mean comeon, that thing is pages long, it is time to start another topic here, I don't think the Earth will collapse if two topics are made for the same question, plus I had other questions about SH4 that would not have been appropriate in that stickied thread.

Now could someone who is willing to actually read my post please let me know what the answer to my SH4 questions are?

Hello goatman455,SH-4 looks to be very simular to SH-3 IMO.Check out these small vids at Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sim/silenthunter4/news.html?sid=6165125&om_act=convert&om_clk=newlyadded)

Wow, VF, that is the first time anyone has actually understood the meaning of my name (without referring to the 'goat' animal and usually while combining it with 'sex' in a sentence).

That is amazing, and good call my friend, I am truly impressed!!!

I have a 1969 Carousel Red (non Judge) GTO with a 1970 428 block that has been increased to 455. I have no idea of the location of the original motor.

Since your questions have been asked and answered why should we bother answering them again? There are threads on SH4 gameplay as well as on the packaging.

Maybe he is only looking for some feedback/conversation....you know, what forums are designed for,is it that big a deal to answer the mans questions?
With the release of the new sim weeks away, thier are going to be a lot of new players coming here for information....they are going to need help,I hope this great Community will help them.

Maybe you've got nothing better to do with your time than endlessly answer the same questions over and over but I do.

And far too many of them will completely ignore the sticky threads and the Find function, instead simply diving in and assuming we have nothing better to do than to do their work for them. The community is actually better served when we redirect them to the answers. 99% of the answers they seek are already in here. They don't somehow become "more true" if they're spread out over a hundred threads.

Then why are you wasting your time in this thread telling everyone about it. Aren't you doing the very thing that you accuse me of? VF is right I am just using the boards for conversation/fun, and I love U-boats and Silent Hunter, I am staring at all three of them right in front of me, I have been playing them for years, I just don't post much.

Besides by having a lot of different posts you get a lot of peoples opinions and people's opinions can change over time, so I don't think it is a bad thing to want to have these experiences.

I'm fairly certain that a separate forum will be created, probably called 'Silent Hunter 4 Community Help', with the existing 'Community Help' probably being renamed as 'Silent Hunter 3 Community Help'.

Over the last few months, I've been moving SH3 support questions that appear in 'General Discussion' over to 'Community Help', in an effort to keep the forums more focussed. On the assumption that SH4 gets its own 'Community Help' forum, I will do the same with support questions for that game which crop up in 'General Discussion'.

I will also have to revise the stickied content in each forum, as appropriate.

Rest assured that the CM's and mods don't want to see the SH forums full of confusion and clutter when SH4 is released.

I spend most of my time in here either helping people or chatting, but every now and again I get sufficiently irritated by some other people's laziness and leeching to speak out.
