Oleg,

Would it please be possible to include those following LW bombs before the end of life for FB/AEP/PF specially in lights of the greatly awaited for and upcoming flyable Ju 88A ??

1. SD1000 (Ju 88A Rüstzustand A...2 X SD/SC1000 + 2 X SD/SC500....)

2. PC1400 (Ju 88A Rüstzustand A...2 X PC1400...)

3. SD1700 (Ju 88A Rüstzustand A...1 X SD1700/SC1800...)

Xanty modelled the externals for those bombs & sent them to you in the fall of 2003 in the hopes of getting them included in AEP & I know Jippo has been lobbying for at least the PC1400 for his Ju 88 2 X PC1400 loadout.

He 111H-6 & Ju 87D could also carry those bombs along the abandonned Do 217s & He 177A-5.

Thanks much!

Jagd

I personally I have never seen a source listing the maximum bomb load for a Ju-88 as anything greater than 1500Kg. Can anyone point me towards any source that says a Ju-88 ever carried more than this?

Ju 88A normal max. bomb load is 3000kg which a typical max load would be: 2 X SC/SD1000 + 2 X SC/SD500 for a total of 3000kg

As far as docs, there you go bud! Enjoy http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

OK. In that case nearly all bombers seemed to have carried more than the maximum loadout given by the manufacturers. The Ju-88 'maximum' loadout was 1500Kg but was modified to carry 3000kg. The Lancaster was rated at 11000lb, but carried 22000lb dam busters.

What makes manufacturers and history books severly underrate bomb load capabilities? Could it be that WW2 bombers were overpowered, only limited in their bomb carrying capacity by the room on hardpoints and not lifting power?

Early war, ie. 1939/1940....Not much....2 single MG15 7.92mm top-rear, 1 X MG15 bottom-rear, 1 X MG15 front. As the war progressed, some of the MG15s got replaced by MG81Z 7.92mm (dual barrel) or MG131 13.1mm, basically "field mods" depending on what was available locally at the time.

Here is an interesting option (rustsatze) "a la" Dornier do 17Z-2 "kampfkopf":

About time for a little bump for SD1000, PC1400 & SD1700!

We are OK with SC (general purpose) bombs but isn't biggest SD (semi-armor piercing) LW bomb we have in the sim only an SD250 ? :-(
