Seems possible to really land the shells where you want to now. Or is it patch hysteria?

And the history repeats it self! Don't know if I should laugh or cry!

Now I'm actually glad I downloaded the bloody beta - heaven knows when we'll get this 4.01 thing. Surely not in two weeks!

The shake just wobbled the head anyway, it didnt affect where the bullets went.

Strictly coincidence; the shakes you experienced from patch hysteria were simply "in phase" with the flimsy Lightning's normal gun vibration. Don't expect this to repeat itself once the giddiness fades.

cheers

Thx BS, you gotta be quick around here! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

It's only terminology, but whether it was head or gunshake it seems more accurate of a shooter now. Anywho, for the record I DL'd from some other site besides 1C.

Well they are talking server side only fixes for 4.01 so it should not effect the P-38. I was flying her last night and she seamed like a MUCH more capable fighter then 3.04m and earlier.

yeah the p38 can finally aim accurately and pic out ground artillery pieces finally. It seems like all the wing mounted guns still sway the rudder like your in the eye of a hurricane tho.

It was no problem to take them out in 3.04. Or I never had a problem with shake causing a problem with it. If anything taking out artillery pieces if probably too easy compared to real life conditions I would imagine.

But in real life, you dont kill the gun. Just the people using it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The difference is that in real life, wing mounted guns do shake. Wings are very flexible, being able to flex several feet at the wingtips. While I'm sure that the shake is, like most things in this game, exaggerated quite a bit, it should be present.

FINALLY!!!!!!!! man this thing is brutally fast, took off last night behind a 51 he got airborne first and in no time I over took him in a climb, and I dont just mean went by him. I BLEW by him. I was easly able to climb with him at 65% throttle, while he was at 100%, and after diving at 430 MPH chasing a 109 to the deck I still had elevator control http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif and once I got up that head of steam she held it very well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ALL HAIL THE RESURECTED p-38 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

With the P-38 resurrection comes a new age...an age where fighter pilots are not afraid nor ashamed to mount up in a twin engined Lightning...where cries of "fork-tailed devil" ring from the battered and conquered enemy...

All hail the lightning http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

And so written history of the great war of 2005 will be replace by the wails of anguish by those know as Luftwhiners...ameriwhiners go silent and all is well!

Thank you Oleg...the Lightning is my favorite ride and it now seems to be competitive without being uber...more later as more testing is completed but I think it is improved...elevators still heavy at low altitude but with enough advantages that I can down my adversary if I fly smarter and better than he does and that is all that I ask...

S!

Cool... I will have to test it tonight! I knew if I waited through enough patches, I would finally be able to to do a lightning campaign and not feel like it should be titled "Kamakazi". http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Something like what's depicted (sort of) in that picture actually happened.

Bf-109 hit a P-38 head on, right wing root of 109 hit the 38 in the right wing root between the cockpit and right engine.

109 disintegrated, the 38 limped home. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
