View Full Version : IL2 Air Racing Rules??

07-17-2005, 05:20 AM
Hi all
Does anyone have/know where I could find the rules for IL2 AirRacing? I recently discovered their site, d/l'd racing videos, scripts and circuits, but did not get the rules. I've been trying unsucessfully to get onto their site for a few days now, seems like some kind of domain expiry problem or such like.....
Anyhow, thought I might give it a shot here?
What I'm looking for are the rules in-race (views, height restrictions, etc) and does anyone know how putting the scripts in will affect my regular gameplay, or what exactly they do?
Any info would be much appreciated, still nothing with the site...
Good day

well, if you enter the IL-2 Air Racing server on hyperlobby, most of the basic rules are listed on the briefing page.

If you enter on non-racing days (Friday and Saturday are league days) then there should be no password, and you can fly around and practice the course and planes for that week.

Although I'm not racing at the moment in the Leauge, Billy885 has sent out an e-mail to all IL-2 racers concerning the site. Here is an excerpt:

"Hello fellow racers,

I found out today that the "il2airracing.com" domain
has expired and has not been renewed. This domain
name is not owned by me, it owned by the person that
started the website. I have sent him an email asking
what his intentions are. He has not answered my
emails for almost a year now, so dont know what else
to say about getting any reply. The website is also
hosted on his home computer, not on any public server.
This means to me he can pull the plug anytime he wants
and maybe he has by now.

I have put in an application to buy the domain if it
is released by "Network Solutions" but this can take
months, but I hope not."

You should be able to get on either Saturday or Sunday and race. You'll need to talk to them about registering to get a number and get your score counted. I'm not sure how that is being handled at the moment.

It looks like it's over. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Here is the latest and last from Billy concerning IL2AirRacing:

Hello all,

I know I dont have everyones email but I am out of
ideas, so you all can pass this on to anybody who is

As you all should know by now, even the forum is down,
there is another forum that you all can use and it is

I dont remember much about it so good luck with it.

This will be the last race of this season and with the
lead that Deathhog has it would be almost impossible
for anyone to catch him, so congradulations "Deathhog"
for winning the points race.

I am not going to be around for awhile, need a break,
dont need what is happening here, (no one is answering
my emails at either site). I will consider then both
dead. I have done the best I could for this racing
league, maybe not all my decisions were correct but I
thought they were at the time. I will shutdown the
racing server and take a break. I will hang on to the
information I have until I make up my mind what to do.

Still thinking in the back of my mind that there are
some out there that wanted this to happen and did not
have the "BALLS" to come out and just say so.

TBS_Billy885 will be no more, he is history from this
point on.

Aw man, that sux. I didn't race much, but I enjoyed it when I did!

I hope it gets started up again at some point. Perhaps a few months break, then we start again towards the end of the year.

Is IL2 racing going on ANYWHERE on the net? WHat about a mod or map we could use on our own server?

Well, actually the Il-2 Air Racing League (yeah, you read right) is going very strong nowadays http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. Check the official site http://simairracing.com/index.cfm
Those old sites are history AFAIK.

Last Saturday we had a total of almost 20 racers in six separate races. I and propably the rest of racing officiators are happy to see new racers joining, so I you're interested, jump in. You only need to reguest a racing number on that site and read the rules. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
