Just had to say a big thankyou, thankyou, thankyou, to the dev team. Got SH3 AND a new computer yesterday, and WOW, I'm completely blown away.Been playing it all night. I've been waiting for this for many a moon and it was worth it http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

PS That disk checker is really a pain in the ****, does it have to take 2 minutes??? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Two minutes?? No, it shouldn't take that long. It should only take a few seconds. I haven't actually timed it, but the disc check window is only up for maybe 5 or 6 seconds.

Glad your pleased with SH3 cornishman.
Its nice to see a post that doesnt complain about it LOL.
My disk checker takes about 45 seconds.

I totally agree. Despite a few bugs here and there this game is **** good. I would like to see the game thats doesn't have bugs out of the box.

Look at the latest Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. The pc version hasn't hit the shelves yet and they already have a patch out for it :P

My disc check takes about 5 seconds.

2 minutes seems bit extreme.

My rig:

1g mem
Radeon X800XT
Xp SP2

Hello All

yup, it takes anywhere between 1 and two mins for me at the moment. And the little monkey just CTD. Oh well. Also, does anyone know which background music files I have to remove so I can have silence in between gramaphone boogy sessions? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

My new rig
P4 3.2
1g mem
Radeon 850XT PE
Xp SP2

You can remove everything in the Data/Sound/Music-file except the files called "Credits_Master LOOP.ogg" and "Menu_Master LOOP.ogg" and"Music.cfg".

You will have complete silence unless you play the grammophone.

Good Hunting!

I thankyou VodkaMike, I tried searching in past gramaphone posts, but couldn't find any pointing out which files. My crew will be delighted! They'll be using the rear torpedo tube for storing there old records in soon...

cheers and thanks again

SF takes a minute or two on my very fast and modern machine too, the kinda stuff that makes people not like SF. I usually leave the room for a spell while SF does it's 120 sec and then the game loads. I removed the intros since the main intro stuttered for me and takes too long unattended.

hello frederf

how do you uninstall intro's? Can you just wip 'em out of the vids folder with no CTD's or anything? Mine is like a psychadelic mushroom show with very weird rendering. Don't know why, the game looks gorgeous.
