So what say we worry about it in late 2006 and focus more on what we have now?

03-07-2005, 06:57 PM
When will we get the patch for BoB?

03-07-2005, 07:15 PM
2 weeks after release patch is promised. Some say it will include spitfire that didnt fit on the dvd http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I wouldn't mind waiting for the spitfire if the default player name is Billy Fiske.

2 weeks, be sure!

I agree Baldie

Pacific Fighters is an insult, they should fix it before moving on.

Is there a "Lemon Law" against poorly released flight sims? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif

PF should never have been done

you all remember when BoBs release date was first mentioned ?

mid-2005 . . . . . .

all we had left to go at that stage was v2.04 patch for AEP & then the final plane patch

this was early 2004 when the cut-off for 3rd party support was first mentioned

then came PF . . . . .

personally, i happen to like the corsair, hellcat, and countless other great additions in PF, and its worth it to me even if it pushed BOB back

PF gave us new planes, new objects, new campaigns, carrier ops & improved sound & FM so I'm not complaining - fixed a few bugs as well. I think PF was worth the dime. I don't care if we have to wait a long time for BoB as long as it will be good. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

An insult? Well turn the other cheek and I'll smack you on that one too then. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

It's alright for the young but I doubt they'll
let me play it when I'm in a home for the bewildered. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Im **** glad PF was done, badsight the majority of us really enjoy the PF set as well as the eastern and western front. To be honest I dont like the eastern front much but learned to enjoy it and learn about it.

I dont really think PF should have been worth more the fb or aep personally and it does need carrier based torpedo bombers as well as some early war ac ki27 and claude flyable along with bigger maps china burma aluetians darwin coast of australia and new ginea with coral sea since we payed full price for a standalone.

But then look at the new BOB fms we suppost to get soon and all the new ac mostly western front ju88 tempest etc and those. So its definatly worth it while out of the box it may not be im sure ubi and 1c will make it worth it in the long run.

The only reason it did not do well in sales is from the leechers and badsight your most likely one of them as well as more then half of the people on HL.

You will still get BoB, you will lose nothing.

Well-said Lexx. I too like what PF is and would like it better if it actually WAS what it wanted to be in the first place. It's still added and refined content to what is easily the best flight-sim ever created.

I still hold out hope that the pending "patchola" will yet make it even better and further strengthen the Imperial Japanese planeset making it more flexible for us mapmakers.

Do I want some things fixed? of course.

If I get NOTHING else will it sour me to the whole sim? of course NOT!

PF is a great game but it's main sore spot is that there's no simple way to craft (either by Dgen or DCG) missions that can be flown in 45 minutes or less. Sure having some of the mission planes would be nice but it's an awesome game. I can tell you from an online and offline point of view, not having a way to automatically create missions to flown in a times comparable to the ETO is killling interest.

The longer it takes for BOB the more time I've got to save for a system I can run it on, which can't be a bad thing.

As for PF and it's (minor in my opinion) problems A\ I'm pretty confident they'll be sorted. and B\ It still screws any other combat flight sim out there right in the ear.

This isn't a "piss on pf" thread, its a "don't post anymore BoB wishlists in ORR" thread.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/willson/Houseman.jpg i seriously thought PF wouldnt be like the AEP delay here in my country

i was wrong , i waited way longer for it than i had to for AEP

Two weeks -
after July

Be sure http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

For all it's flaws/faults ( can't think of any right now http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ), remember, PF gave us the improved muzzleflash ... and I remember vast and repeated threads on that subject.

How quickly they forget <sigh>

i was in on the MF being wrong from the start , i mean 2001

but was all the goods we got in PF worth BoB being set back a year & a half ?
