View Full Version : If you could add a new mission to SC / SC Pandora Tomorrow...

Where would you want the mission to take place, what would be the primary objective, what would the level look like (variables such as indoors, outdoors, building styles: old, new, terrain: flat, hilly, heavy/light foliage, weather: stormy, snowy, clear, time: night/day, etc.), what weapons would you have, what enemies, etc., etc. ~ In terms of subject matter and visuals, games are getting incredibly accurate these days and I'm lovin it. Splinter Cell games are already among the most realistic I've seen, although I'd love to see SC utilize the occasional vehicle, like a stealth glider, etc. Like Kuma\War ~ how it lets you play in recreations of war events actually going right now in the middle east... now THAT's the kind of realism that I love to see in a military shooter/stealth action. As far as I'm concerned, the more realism that can be added to games in general, the better.

Maybe the white house ... it's been a passing thought, but I don't know how it would fly. The story writers would have to come up with something extremely creative to have an American agent infiltrate the white house. It would also have to be made into an extremely difficult level as well.

that's easy, Terrax. the idea came to me in a split second:

a VERY high-ranking politican/presidental staff member (i.e. an advisor/vice president) is actually a long-term sleeper terrorist cell - and he's just been activated, to kill President Bowers! and NSA can't call the Secret Service because no one would believe them and it would expose extremely valuable Agency assets or something, so you have to sneak in and assassinate the terrorist right in front of everybody (there would be a speech/press conference going on) before he can shoot the president (his gun would be out already so you don't look like a mad gunman and the Service won't kill you)...
then you surrender and "explain everything" (Lambert will have written up an explanation that covers up the Agencys asset and feeds it to you over the mic)

and then the prez makes a impromptu speech about American soldiers always on watch and protecting their country, and hangs a medal of honor on you right there live on TV. lol...

how's that for a climax? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

this is a little strange but I thought about it on my vacation... looking for a terroist in a theme park at night. You need to avoid being seen all around the park and he moves so you have to follow him in the shadows anbd if you dont catch him before the park closes. And the terroist is in a theme park because no one would really notice him. Thats wat i thought...

just thought of something like in a cruise ship (no armed guards) and your looking for some type of terrorist secret agent and he ends up being caught by the onboard police so you have to knock out the police and get him off the ship never being seen. If seen mission failure

I would really like to see reinactments of historic missions that have actually been carried out by real-life "Sam Fishers". Have you played KUMA\WAR? After playing that, now that I've gotten a taste for completing missions that have recently taken place in the Middle East, I'm anxious to see Splinter Cell follow suit and put us in the shoes of the real guys doing the real deal.

in the spirit of future downloadable levels....I hope for a nightclub map. Well balanced for mercs and spies to hid and get around. Spies could hack into the lighting system and start a colorful distraction on the dancefloor with the lights out. Mercs could turn on emergency lighting/flood lamps to make spies run for shadows. Different floor surfaces: hardwood floors (dancefloor) *wouldnt a freshly waxed floor make teh laser sights bounce off/reflect? (THAT would cause confusion), soft carpet (lounge area)The DJ booth would make a great safe haven for snipers, unless ones aim is good, you could get a grenade into it. Pillars, catwalks, steps, vents, ramps, and more. If the map needed more expansion a coat check room, bar stock room, VIP room, overview balcony, etc.. would make nice additions.

I like the theme park idea, it would be amazing to have AI theme park patrons walking around while you play, maybe in SC3? When you make your suggestions dont forget to think of the typical XBL gameplay with zones for the viles, etc or maybe that would be a different thread entirely.

and WOW, a white house level? There would hardly be any darkness, all light and a lot of cameras. it would def be a hard level.

I really like outdoor missions. I was especially stoked to see that Sam Fisher would be creeping around in tall grass in a jungle-like setting. Far Cry is great for outdoor levels.

KUMA\WAR levels are great because they're simulations of places in the Middle East where we're currently in battles with Al Queda, insurgents, etc. I wondered what the place was like where Uday and Qusay were killed and now I've been able to actually play through a recreation of that very neighborhood.

btw, if you don't know what KUMA\WAR is (some people haven't heard of it), it has been one of my pleasant surprises of the year, so I recommend checking it out: http://www.kumawar.com

My big surprise disappointment of the year, on the other hand, was BREED. Should have read some reviews first. Lesson learned. One-word summary: SUCKS.
