Im not much on running in the fog, but decided to engage the enemy in fog with about 380m visiblity. this is apparently crazy , because i think the navigator threw an orange at me. but this seriously causes great confusion on the destroyers behalf. i popped up right in the middle of a convoy and began starting an artificial reef. had to stay submerged the entire time, due to the deck guns on all the merchants. but 3-T2's , 1-C2 , and 1 C3 later i slip off undetected at 60meters. after running west for a day in still shut out fog , i encounter another convoy, so i decide to try it again, in which i think the chief engineer came out of the engine room and threw a wrench at me. the first shot crippled a C3 which turned out to be a good thing later on. i lost the T3 in the fog and was upset, but i sent 2-T2's and one more C2 to the bottom, well this has upset the escorts and they are hunting me like mad. pinging all over the place and the searchlights are unreal. but i stay hidden right next to the crippled C3. getting lucky twice i blasted the Flower class destroyers as they manuever around the C3. the C3 did find it humorous to fire at my periscope every now and then . after the convoy continued east i decide to give chase again , finishing off the C3 while leaving.i run surfaced at flank speeds to find that one ship thats begging for my last fish. hoping the whole time i could find that T3, i start getting radar contacts . i have a repair crew working , due to a ramming i encountered with another destoryer, dont know what class it was looked like a VW but the last i saw of him was his stern pointing to the sky. i have to submerge again , due to the fact the entire convoy has turned around. i guess they got to wondering what happened to the other ships. i only had to evade the last destroyer and i had to look real hard through the fog to find that last tanker. dodging a couple of C3's i finally find him 374 meters away and its a perfect shot. i fired my last fish , and submerged to 90 meters and headed out of there without detection... this was my greatest day so far playing this game. and i found out combat in the fog is super intense, i didnt ansewer the boat phone when it rang ( probably the office anyway) and smoked nearly a whole pack of cigarettes and my right hand is sweaty from not letting go of the mouse. but U124 has pulled off another one with a ******ed captain in charge. 94,847 tons at the bottom of the ocean. if the weather would have been better i would have hung around and blasted a few with the deckgun (which i should have) but this is like the greatest game ever.

I second that! Fog is a real challenge, but you can turn it to your advantage. Most of the times I got killed in the past was due to operating carelessly on the surface in fog. I'm smarter now, so the fog is sometimes my friend.

Nicely done! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
I typically much enjoy a good fog €" especially when the winds are low (the tragic fate of the late U-53 notwithstanding).

Best,
