I have done as much searching as I can on this issue but can't find the exact solution for me, I am having those blue flashes on the player aircraft in external view and was hoping that by now someone had figured out a definitive way get rid of them, I have BFG geforce 8800GTX 768mb, with the 180.48 driver.

Running 1946 4.08m BOE & Ostfront + EnjoyR patch

The flashes are a bug, it can be fixed with these (http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&get=3246) Dlls from the 4.09 patch, they will work fine with the 4.08 version of the game. Just put them in your il2 main directory, (Maybe back up you original game ones in case of trouble, though there shouldn't be any problems)
