I've posted some screenshots from Sturmoviks over Manchuria and 46. There's a little bit of the Il-10 cockpit, Ki-27, N1K2-J, Ta-183, Arado-234, and the Maus tank.

http://www.rrgstudios.com/img/1946/8_small.jpg (http://www.rrgstudios.com/EN_02_07_1946.shtml)

I'll try to keep you guys up to date on our developments in the coming weeks. Tomorrow morning I'm off to LA though, and Oleg is flying there this weekend, and we'll spend all of next week at E3. So don't expect to see much of us until Monday the 15th.

Rest assured the work on addressing the issues with the Pe-2 add-on will continue in the meantime.

NICE!

On the note about cockpits.. I would pay for an addon that just re-did some of the existing cockpits.. the P47 cockpit is the worst and needs an upgrade bad

Just noticed on Luthiers website under the 46' project details there is an unamed project???

Is there where the speculation about the Koread addon is generated from?

The 109's, Sturmo's, Migs and a few others also all have really dodgy pits that could do with allot of improvement.

I'm 100 % agree with AKA_TAGERT, The new addon is good it will give us the opportunity to make great scenarios, the 1946 addon will be overboard IMO many would pay for an addon for new cockpitS of our most use aircraft.. like all serie of yak 9's are wrong , P47 etc..

Looks like there are gear doors on the Arado.... therefore no trolley. Kind of too bad.

Tooz_69GIAP
05-03-2006, 04:24 PM
After reading a little about the Arado Blitz, I think the version modelled is the Ar 234B-2 which had it's own tricycle gear, and was the dedicated bomber variant (the first jet powered bomber ever I think). It was the "A" variant that had the trolley which was jettisoned after take off.

P.S.- I'd love to go into a jets only server with all of these crazy aircraft, and have dogfights up at 7,000m or so. Dogfights up there in jets are something else! But they're far more fun if you have unlimited fuel.

Maybe this addon could bring the correct bombsight to the B-25.
If RRG boys model the Nordern (I think the B-25 and A-20C used it) b-sight for the Havoc, maybe for the B-25 could be too. Using German b-sight is not very realistic...

Fingers crossed...

Blitz and Ta-182 flyable? Maybe I can swallow my pride and risk losing a few cents in the exchange rate and deal with that silly-named third party downloader.

No rush though.

I noticed that Newegg is carrying the complete edition for us poor Yanks. Perhaps if there is a CD edition of the final three expansions, I will be able to get it there.

I just don't know anymore.

Looking forward to these very promising add-ons.

Huekebein looks great and can't wait to try that one ;-) Arado234 also greatly appreciated.

Please release them at a price like Pe-2 and via online purchase (permitted the BB get's fixed ;-)

E3? That would mean Oleg will show some screens of BoB?

So.. has this thing with Gr.mm.. more or less made it so that there will be no more American aircraft in the series? I see that would not prevent me from getting any add ons of course... but it certainly would be a drag if there were no more at all coming.

Were getting the A-20C. I don't think its the Grumman thing I think its more that nobody bothered to model anymore... I think the NG thing only affected the specific aircraft built under license by NG. I haven't heard mention of Boeing Lockheed or anyone else going after UBI...

Hah, But the real reason I posted (before reading Bear's post) is if anyone new if any new maps are coming with the VVS46 add-on? Prague? An extension of Kurland to Konigsberg?

Oleg has been saying for the past year now that the only new things we'll see in the game are aircraft, vehicles, objects, and maps.

There won't be any new features including weapons because of the extra coding it takes... Thats why theres no panzerblitz, rockets for the Mustang, X-4, the V-2 is just static etc...

I'd like to gently point out that two of the most important aircraft of the whole Second World War are finally making an appearance:

ki-21
ki-27

The community had begged for these planes for so long in forlorn hope, particularly the Ki-21 seemed unlikely

IJA aircraft have been roundly missed for historical engagements.

Luthier, this is an unexpected and surprising development. Thanks very much for this news; historical AVG scenarios miss only maps now but we can easily make do with what we have; the aircraft are the main stumbling blocks. No more substituting DB-3s and P.11s for common Japanese aircraft. Too bad there's no Ki-48 but I'm not complaining

This may be the right time to announce that the release of my updated AVG campaign will be delayed until I can add these aircraft in and playtest http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I have made no inferrence that the Sally is flyable, and I have heard no rumor that this is so in any case

And while doing that why not correct P-51B/C too? So far no trace of official material on N9 gunsights in those planes has been found, so why not rebuild said Mustangs cocpits around P-40E one, i.e. already having usual in P-51B/Cs N3 gunsight?
I would pay gladly for "Cocpit correction add-on" too!

And confirmation that the Boonty issue is holding things up.

I suppose commercial reasons stop them using the Flight1 wrapper.

It's difficult to find any complaints except from people who don't read the instructions.

Loads of FS add-ons use this wrapper without problems.

I'm still in shock that I'll actually be able to have Ki-27s escort Ki-21s, and that the Ki-27s won't need to have me make some stop-gap skin. I never thought I'd really get both planes to play with

I think added to that:

-N1K2-J and J2M5, giving the Japanese navy some late war strength and adding to historical b-29 raid escort and interception missions for both sides.

-this is the big one currently for me...isn't there supposed to be a correction to the USN planes gun-yaw bug? or am I mistaken...

Aviar and I both sent him bug reports on the "F" fighter gun yaw issue. He sent me an e-mail in reply... short & sweet as Oleg usually is.

And where pray did you come by THAT info ? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

We have had nothing released as far as to what exactly will be flyable vs. AI only. If there is info share it please http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif.

Maybe your copy of manchuria won't have a flyable A5M http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

All previous official info about the A5M, from the time of the first pics of it in Max, have said it will not be flyable.

On the bright side the Ki27 will be.

About two years ago I scanned all my A5M references and passed them on to one of the 3rd party modellers. Some time later he said that someone else was already doing the project so he'd forwarded the stuff to them. I guess it never saw the light of day. A great shame, as its my all time favourite aircraft.

We have enough info to make the A5M4 flyable, but we don't have enough resources (time, labour, money) for that. Same for the Ki-21, Ki-44 or Ki-48.
So, as it was said, the A5M4 will be present as AI only.

So....is this an indication that we'll get an AI Ki-48, as well?? Is there a list of all aircraft in the Manchuria add-on somewhere?

No, this is indication that we have enough material to build certain planes and cockpits, but we couldn't do so due to other reasons, then absence of the reference material.

What gripes me a little bit is that the friggin thing is actually done. Manchuria add on is completed ... then why can't we get a simple list of what is included? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

People just don't buy things blind. I am not asking for the whole Bible, but if they would just throw a couple chapters and maybe a table of contents, a lot of people would be happier. (including me http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif)

Maybe they have thier reasons, which is absolutely fine, just say so. It is frusterating for us. Seriously, how long does it take to post a simple list and update the page?

Late war Soviet/USA vs Japan is gonna be interesting with the new fighters. Certainly gives a better variety to play with than just late Zeros and Ki-84s!

And early war of course will be interesting with the Ki-27 vs Ishak and Chaika.
