Ivan right now I am trying different settings with this new patch. One thing I have found with the twistie rudder is to give it more deadzone in the saitek software. When you try to use pitch or roll sometimes the yaw will input when you dont need it. Just go in IL2 input settings and move your stick around and you will see what I mean.

S~ Ivan and Friends. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I'm using X52 in combination with Microsoft's FFB2 and i'm very happy with the result.
I suggest the same to all X52 users. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Here's the relevant section of mine, bear in mind I haven't done much flying in 4.02 yet so may choose to tune it but only a little:

Your friend will probably find this useful too to help make sense of what's above:

AXE_RZ JoystickDevice0=rudder
AXE_U JoystickDevice0=flaps
AXE_X JoystickDevice0=aileron

Here's mine but my advice is start off slowly and add things as you need them. That way you'll add things to places that you'll remember.

All sliders in the game are set to 100%.

My stick and throttle is mapped as follows:

STICK
- Trigger: stage 1 = mg & stage 2 = mg + cannons

- (under the flip-cap): Eject

- Two small buttons on RHS (under mode switch) of stick are flaps up & flaps down

button on left under top hat switch = WEP

Top hat is in 4 way mode:

Left & right = increase/decrease fuel mix.

Up & down = increase/decrease prop pitch.

Bottom hat is in 4 way mode and are all whisper channels for Teamspeak.

- Toggle 1: Manual Gear up
- Toggle 2: Manual Gear down
- Toggle 3: not mapped
- Toggle 4: not mapped
- Toggle 5: not mapped
- Toggle 6: not mapped

THROTTLE

Top rotary = elevator trim
button in top rotary = MAP

bottom rotary = flaps

slider = rudder trim

button near slider = talk (Teamspeak)

- Hatswitch: control views
- Fwd (down): wide view
- Left: middle zoom
- Right: toggle gunsight view
- Back (up): zoom in

That's all in Mode 1.

In mode 2:

Two small buttons on RHS (under mode switch) of stick are weapon 3 and weapon 4 which in my case are bombs and rockets.

Shows which axis is assigned to which control... it's from the settings.ini in my pilot folder.

Edit: And yes, the secret of my bad flying is out... I have trim & flaps on a slider http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I use 100s across the board for aileron and elevator.

Same here. Do the later X-52's without the dead zone issues need to have 100's across the board?
