Historic ocean liner sinks near Japan ahead of repairs; no injuries The all-white, 127-meter-long Stella Polaris, built in 1927 by Sweden's G├┬Âtaverken for Bergen Line of Norway, was known for its graceful, yacht-like appearance as well as for its luxurious interior.

Used for trans-Atlantic and other luxury cruises, the Stella Polaris was seized by Nazi Germany during World War II

So slowly they all sink to the crushing depths of time.

April 9th 1940, the day that German troops landed in Norway. To protect their ship, the company then ordered the ship moved to the Osterfjord, close to Bergen. But finally, on October 30th that year, the ship was seized by German forces, which soon put the ship to use as a
floating recreation centre for submarine officers.

The news says Stella sunk to 70 meters depth. Not sure what the tonnage is but with enough money it's possible to raise still. Too much for rec diving, though as this would make a beautiful wreck... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sleepzzz.gif
