View Full Version : Novella's Secret: a problem

I have been following the advice given in the Official Guide to Assassin's Creed 2, especially in the Novella's Secret section.

I reached the point of making a "leap of faith" to the lower level in the Catacombs. The Guide states that ""Templars enter the room and begin investigating, but you can ignore these and make a break for the individual just through the gate...."

However, the Templars did not enter the room. I crouched hidden listening to their dialogue expecting something to happen. They moved on and the door to the Great Hall closed.

Now my mission guide tells me i must find a way to open the door to the Great Hall... but I am stymied, since the Guide does not include any reference to opening the doors.

I am not sure whether i missed a great opportunity by not rushing into the room while the doors were open and the Templars were talking... or how to overcome the current problem.

I have found, at times, that the official Guide seems to mis-guide me... so if anyone can shed light on this impasse, it will be appreciated.

there is a lever to open the door, you just have to climb up one of the walls http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif don't rely solely on a guide, they can be wrong sometimes http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

In an ongoing effort to open the doors of the Great Hall, I went to You-Tube and found an explanatory video (that bore no resemblance to the instructions of the Official Guide to Assassin's Creed 2). I was able to perform the complex steps (that intuition alone would not likely lead many people to perform successfully) necessary to open the doors.

the adventure continues....
