I got this in e-mail two days ago.

Why they don't say nothing here? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Re: Tobacco reference.

Some of the pilots may have a pack of Lucky Strikes in their pocket or something.

This is good news, bad news for me.

It's coming out. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
It's coming out the same month as the Silent Hunter sequel. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I'll have to pay for both in the same month. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Yeah well.... I got mine from GG when it was released. It is great news for those who stiull may not have it.. but I cant help but wonder what the heck these folks are thinking of. A release of a title... staggered not in days.. but months.... brilliant. I wish I knew why it was like that. Maybe someone from UBI who actually knows can tell us. Till then I cant help but wonder what school of business some of the marketing and distribution decision makers went to.

I got mine from gogamer.com as well.

For the life of me I can't figure out why I had to go there and it wasn't released for the US.

Either way, good news that it is finally being released.

Il2Sturmovik:1946 DVD contains all versions of the sim with all patches and updates to 4.07

Pe-2 was v4.05. So yes, this has the Pe-2 stuff

It has:

FB, AEP, PF, all patches, all offcial updates, Pe-2, Sturmoviks over Manchuria, and Il2:1946

There is an official patch for v4.07 which is free for download, which will bring the Il2Sturmovik:1946 DVD install to v4.08, the current version of the sim

America was built on tobacco and such.....I don't get why so many Americans want to turn their back on their tremendous tobacco culture... seems a bit commie to me......just a thought from an old American....

Jeez, I feel a need to smoke now.

Fortunately, I do, so I'm going to.

Glad I don't have a gun to hand.

What I don't understand with all those delayed release date is that we have it since January in Canada but our southern brothers don't. We usually get our game on the same date http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

March 13th is the date I have found. US is by far the largest economy of the face of the earth. It would be the last market I'd ship to also if I were head of a marketing collosis like UBI. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

The EU is the largest economy.

Its been out here in Australia since Jan 17th. I cannot see why you haven't got it in the USA,yet very strange marketing practice? I wonder what the logic is?

It's been out in Australia since about December 17th. I had a copy before Christmas.

Yes, we know when it came out in Australia. The AU and EU releases were announced by Ubi almost three months ago. I live in the US, have had my copy since two days before Christmas, and mine is from the AU release

At the time, there was much speculation on this forum about why the NA release was not also announced, and what on earth was Ubi's reasoning for a staggered release, if indeed a staggered release was even intended

They have done this before, you see http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I'm surprised that the two of you didn't know this, Goanna and Tagtaken. You couldn't swing the proverbial dead cat without knocking into a dozen threads about this just 10 weeks ago

Does anyone know what stores (EB, bestbuy, etc) will be carrying it?

Thanks!

Re: Why wait months to buy it?

Reasons vary. Mine is:

Medieval Two: Total War came out in November. I'm OK as a single-player on IL-2 and have some limited history knowledge I can give on the forum. I'm the more-or-less official horse archer/missile cavalry nut on the Org forum for the Total War series.

Obsession has its price, which is too high to have two obsessions at once.

Once the state Legislature is no longer in session and I'm no longer covering it, we're going to replace the phone line at my house with a cable modem. Then -- maybe -- I'll give some of you the pleasure of shooting me down. It probably won't be until after I buy a tracker, though.

I'm a bit confused, I've had mine since January and I live in the US. Why is this big news??

Gamestop has it on thier website but, I called the local store and they said it was still awaiting its rating and they won't recieve it without a rating. This was last week, I'll call back soon to see if it has changed.

Well, I called gamestop back. 1946 is in thier computer and not allowing pre-orders. They seem to think it had shipped. But my guess is, they know Ubi and doesn't want to here about it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
