Here's pics I took earlier this year at the Edmonton Aviation Heritage Center, located here:

Google Maps Link (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=edmonton&ll=53.565031,-113.51645&spn=0.004824,0.013561&t=h&om=1)

It's the large square building at center, on an airfield that was formerly used to ferry P-39s and B25s to Russia.

Here's a CF101 to greet you on the avenue.

The museum is in one of the last surviving double-wide WW2 hangars.

Outside there's a Norseman and a Bomarc on poles.

Pride of place goes to the magnificent Mosquito MK B35, painted up as an intruder from 418 Sqn.

"Hairless Joe" with kill markings. Nose art for 418 was provided by masterful American illustrator Al Capp. Note the neatness of the radiator installation.

That was depressing. How about a Clunk? It's a WW2 fighter with two jet engines...

Here's the exterior again.

Thanks for looking! Here's a final pic of the Mos. Under the port wing is a Lanc tail wheel, under the port drop tank is a glass case with an H2S antenna.

It is planned for restoration BUT the big issue is $$$. They also have an early Ventura they hauled out of the bush. It's been awaiting restoration for over 10 years...they need something like 300K to do a proper job. They also had a 737 added to the collection, it's parked where the Dakota used to be, out back.

Interesting plane. It's actually a B.35 bomber variant that has been 'restored' to resemble an FB.6. Personally I'm not keen on restoration that alter the original aircraft but I can see why the museum would want a copy of such a famous canadian plane.

More pics coming!! I just found out about a project that is near to my new home. This weekend I will be going to CFB Comox for an open house that features a Spitfire MkIX that is on it's way to flying status. Seven Spit pilots will be in attendance...hope I can think of something intelligent to say. I love talking to vets though...The website mentions that there may be warbirds flying in as well. I will post the sightings next week.
