I forth it, i started a thread recently on this idea so that we can have all the BoB info, ideas etc etc all in one place so that it isn't scattered all over the forums

Even if just to have a place for the existing BoB updates.

Early or not, it's a good idea to keep all BoB ideas, questions etc etc all in one place, that way we all know where to go to put forward ideas, ask questions, and to look for answers. Plus it may help oleg for idea or such if he can see what we are talking about, rather than those things lost in the **** on this forum.

I think its a bloody fine idea to have a forum at least set up, it doesn't need to be spectacular, just enough to do the job...

I agree with Bear99. Its to early. In due time the BoB project will have its own forum. Not before he finishes the Pacific project.

I"m to beleive this new game will mostly be for online flyers. If that is the truth. Count me out. I rather fly historical plausable missions than unrealistic furballs most of the time.

BOB works started in 2002 and it is now what....2005....that means well get a site around the 2nd quater of 2006....GREAAT....and then how long until the sims released? 6 months....1 year? By which time itll be 2007 and hardware will have moved on tremendously...(OLED displays, Windows Longhorn, ATI R600 using unified shaders, Shader Model 4.0, WFG 2.0, AMD 64 Quad cores)....the game MIGHT be outdated by the time its released. The screenies ive seen of BOB 2 so far dont even have any Bump mapping, the cockpits are just higher textures and resoloutions. 1C are talking of using 2048x2048 textures, ID on the other hand are using 31000x31000 textures for future games. Hardwares going to move on hugely in that time, hopefully BOB 2 will be cutting edge when its released.

Sorry to be a downer but the pacific is pretty much over. I agree that it's not anywhere near done, however from what I understand Oleg HAD to finish PF after it was dumped into his lap, and 4.02 which is supposed to be out soon (2 weeks anyone?) will probably be it. I know, I know, torpedo bombers, maps, etc are all missing, but Oleg is anxious to move onto BoB, and frankly I'm anxious to see him move on too.

I think that it's time to move to Bob and it's new engine.
Everybody is anxious to see some work on this new tipe of air simulator.
Perhaps a new game based in the pacific theatre could develop from BoB based on it's engine.
