Today I managed to fix all the things that were bugging me about IL2:FB - long load times, stutters which prevented me from hitting my targets, and general slowness with the menus and the game itself. My system: a P4 3 Ghz with 2 GB of dual-channel memory.

How did I solve these problems? Simple, I ripped the P4 and board out of my case, put them in a nice cardboard box and stuffed them in my closet. I then installed an AMD64 3700+ on an Asrock Dual939 board with the same memory, same timings and same video card. It's unbelievable how much smoother it runs now.

Just thought I'd pass this on.

Too bad you had to spend money. My 3.2 runs as smooth as a babies butt.
