What plane are you looking forward to most, and why?

I am looking forward to the P51 B/C the most because, well, I'm not sure...I just like them! The spit will be nice too, I'm American but am half British blood and I'm itching to fly this beauty!

Oh, and a Ta 152 to oust those La's will be sweet as well http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Those twin engine additions are very much welcome and add to the richness of the game.

The P-38 was my weapon of choice back when Aces of the Pacific was the hottest flight sim out there. I'm sure things haven't changed that much...

I'm psyched for the Spitfire too. They're just cool.

P-38. I'm pretty certain it won't be too good a plane (given the engine limitations and lack of torque modeled), but looking forward to it.

Oh, and FYI, the german *ground troops* called it Der Gabelschwanz Teufel, which means "The Devil with the Cleft Tail."

I'm looking forward to the new jets as well, especially the Me 163 and He 162. I happen to like the BI-1, so I think I'll like the Komet too.

Also, I can't say I'm not curious about how the Mistel setup will work in FB. I'll have to try that at least once.

Spitfire & after that ill try the Spitfire again

then about 6 weeks later ill give the TA-152 a go followed by the P-80

but i promise to only fly the P-80 to destroy Me262's

The P-38, absolutely.

Korolov: It didn't have any torque effect because the props counter-rotated.

Frag-Bravo: Fork-Tailed Devil is what you're reaching for.

Yes tttiger, thats what I mean. I've read comments that lots of single engine props had extreme torque at takeoff and during low speed manuvers. Since you really can't snap out in a high speed manuver with the exsisting single engined props, it will make the Lightnings attributes pretty much nil, unless you count the armanent and twin engine flight capability.

1. The Vulcher's Wet dream = Mistel
I'm not much of a Vulcher but it just seems so perverse that it'll probably be the first thing I fly in QMB before I go online. I can't wait for the movies that they will make with this abomination. I predict that all of the online servers that allow vulching will ban this plane from the set. The joke is that you'll have a perfectly good Butcher Bird to use after you launch the JU-88.....I guess the downside will be that you have to haul that JU-88 all the way across the map and actually get there in one piece, and you have no defensive armament.

2. ME-110...does anybody know if the Radar will work in this thing? If you look at the rear gunners position in some of the developmental updates, there is a radar set there. Could bring a whole new meaning to the nightime scenarios

3. TA-152.......enough said. I don't want to make this my number one, as there has been so much hype about this acft that I don't want to be dissapointed. It can't be perfect (sorry Zen), nothing is. My WAG is that the roll rate will be porked.

4. P-51B/C.....These could be very, very sweet

5. Tempest if it's there (really don't know what the final flyable plane list will be).

6. Black Widow, IF the radars are implemented (see #2 above)

7. Fiat

8. IAR 80

9. As many Spitfires as can be put in here for all the Candian and British flyers out there. They are the some of the most honorable fellows in the IL2 groups and really deserve adequete representation. The Canadian squadrons host some of the best servers in this game, and their flying, shooting and fighting is incredible. If you have'nt had your a$$ handed to you lately, go fly with the 401.....

10. Who knows, maybe the Gladiator will make it. I'd love to fly it because the cockpit I saw in the developmental update was the most gorgeous one I've seen

11. P-63 KingCobra

12. P-38....should be great Butcherbird prey if they don't overmodel it's roll rate

Actually, I agree with Icefire. So many great planes coming....

I'm going with the Fiat and the Gladiator first.
It's really a hard choice, but Oleg is giving us a great selection to pick from. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
I would have to guess the P-38 is on the burner heating up also. It's going to be a winner with Fire Power and TWIN ENGINES!!!!!

Me110 is the most awaited plane for me.LW needs a good fighter/bomber.Somehow I never liked FW190 in Me110 role.Me110 should appear quickly in VOW/VEF missions.LW will get big firepower and new possibilities. Two engines are always better than one in ground attack or bomber busting.Me110 will also provide somewhat of a decoy for VVS,so ME109/FW109 will have some more freedom.

I`ll be also glad to see the other types of Mustangs cuz every one of them differs from another.

All of them, except maybe the American jet (YP-80?), and that's only because I don't know much about it. I'll get to it after all of the others.
Done a lot of reading about the Me163 so I expect that'll get first go.
Cheers!

The Spitfire for sheer beauty
The P38 for cool
The G50 and IAR8x for being interesting
The Me-110 for making life difficult

I'm honestly not that interested in the rest.

Still is my number 1 favorite and most anticipated plane, but I really doubt it will be porked in any particular area. I don't have anything staked to it's performance and probably will be much more forgiving of a less than stellar FM because it was not a perfected plane when it was in service. If you use the D9 as a base, the TA152 ought to rock in this game because it pretty much could do everything the D9 could, only better.

And truth be told, if the roll rate is lower than the D9 I won't mind, I said in another thread that roll rate is too high for most planes so I can live with something less than the 1 million degrees per second of the FW lol.

Besides the overall implication of higher performance, the two things I am most looking forward to about it are trying out that 17 degree sustained turn rate and that very very interesting looking gunsight which is set very high on the dash compared to other FW's. That alone will be worth the price of the addon to me, plus we get the P38!

I suspect really that most of my flying in it will be done offline after the first month of AEP, I have a hunch it will be banned from most all servers except the mixed planesets which I never fly on anyway.

And lastly, while I simply adore the plane, they did only put 30 into service, I'm not going to be upset if it's just not on most servers because it's out of context, still have the D9 for my dirty work in that regard.

(but the thought of a mk108 in a plane as agile or better than the D9 is well...yehaaaaw!)

I'm about 99% certain that the dev team have altered the 162's flight model.

Oops! I forgot the P-38, another bird I am really, really looking foward too.

I also want to fly the He 162, but never online (will be banned anyways, except maybe in some new sort of all jet servers we might see). Bf 110, as it's been said before, will be a kicka** fighter bomber, so I can't wait to try that out too...so many good planes...
