what you have done with the image itself is quite outstanding. Nice skills in the retouching department.

To critique it, I would say this. At the angle I am seeing it from, it would be nice to see maybe a few other planes buzzing around, or another he111 or maybe a spit, or something to suggest action. If you want to keep this a single plane image, I would suggest adding something else to give it more meaning. Maybe show a bit of the horizon, to indicate some sort of accomplishment is about to take place, or show an airfield underneath, or something to give it more punch.

Maybe, you could add the shadow of a spit or two on the port wing, to suggest that this bomber is being watched, or being attacked, or has been. I don't mind the lonely feeling of this picture, but I think if you keep it the angle should change.

That is VERY good.

IMO, Shakthamac is wrong about it needing more. It does have a lonely feeling, which is perfect. I imagine that if you're in a bomber going down, the only other people in the world at that point in time would be those on your plane who are still alive.

Ty lads!
well my goal was to make a pic where that "Nazis "more than human" pride" gets crushed in a blast of a moment.. the moment when they finaly realised that they arent more than others and where they r goin to pay for that atitude.. thats what that ironic "Good night white pride" means.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
unfortunately i had some dificulties when tried to add some of that light side of the conflict ( me in my spit http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ) but im workin on it and i hope that it will soon turn well..

but i need to let this pic rest a bit.. it needs it to be able to include some more action in itself http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Tooz> no its not Kurland mate its few kms south of Caen (as we dont have south England).. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Great work on that screen shot. I wonder how real that would look in black and white and maybe aged a little.

Nice work.

Maybe play with the wording to get the message across. I didn't understand the caption "Good night white pride" until you explained it. You could try switching the caption to indicate the Germans now realize the British will be tougher opponents than expected. Or maybe the crew is wondering can they cross the channel on one engine to get home.

I was just saying that the angle seems kind of odd to me. he doesnt have to neccesarily add anything to it, but I think that seeing a bit of the horizon would balance out the picture a bit. I think the problem i am having with it is that I don't get the feeling that the bomber is going down. To me it looks like it is flying just fine and is actually keeping its nose up, as if to say even this damage isnt enough to stop me. i think I would put something else in there to indicate that the plane was going down.

But thats just me.

I think I get what your getting at Shakthamac, but it's obviously not going too steeply nose down. There's no major structural failure so there'd be little reason for it. He is slightly nose down though, or at least that's what the smoke going under the horizontal stabilizer is telling me.

There is something distastful about this to me.

Sure, the Nazis were morons, but does this "artwork" display hatred? And if you have hate in your soul do you lower yourself to that level?

Most german pilots were officers and were not allowed to belong to the Nazi party. Much I have read, these guys were just soldiers defending their country, and were unfortunate to be in a country controlled by a political party they did not support.
Many were thinking about protecting their non-nazi families from being raped and killed by Russians or killed by American bombs.

The lesson should not be about Nazis, but about how unreasonable fear and hate is used by those in power to control populations to do their bidding.

What is happening in America right now is no different than in Germany in the thirties.

We have a leader stirring up unreasonable fear and hate for a certain country that had nothing to do with the 9/11 attack on America and had no threatening weapons of mass destruction. But they did have oil that these leaders/oil executives wanted and they used their control of the media to mislead the American population and garner support to invade this country, he11, they did it without much support even! and the alleged perp of 9/11 took second priority to this oil war.

I am an American, and it makes me sad to think there is some Islam boy drawing a picture of an american helicopter being taken out by a rocket, what hateful text will he add to this drawing?
All Americans are not oil-thirsty, fanatical-christian-morons, but thanks to G.W. I am sure that fact is not an easy sell in many parts of the world.

When I see narrow minded people, full of hate and prejudice, I don't hate them back, I feel sorry for them. What a f*(&cked up way to spend your life. S!

Um JumoSchwanz, I think you are getting this wrong... I see this nice pic as a "Mess with the best, die like the rest" thing, notice he has the name of hes unit down in left corner, like a warning:

"If You dear to come over here we gona prov to you that it was a big mistake"
or whatever, I am confident that he wasnt meaning any distastfulnes at all. I think you overreacted mate, cool down and you will se it my way (I hope)

I think people need to stop hijacking threads. This is about a piece of artwork by No_312_RAF_Jura and him asking for comments on his work.

Now people are talking about Nazis and G.W. and Iraq??? Come on, start your own thread if you get this far off topic.

Nice pic http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
I do agree with Shakthamac however regarding it lacking 'punch'.
The composition is just a little too balanced, if the horizon was visible (maybe at an exaggerated angle?) or the plane was more isolated the sense of a lonely death would be more apparent. I like the idea of the shadow of a fighter being visible in some form (maybe on the wing), an unseen menacing presence would be very powerful.
Another idea would be for this plane to be viewed in the distance with a formation of He111's in the foreground turning for home, forced to abandon their comrades to their fate.
Just ideas, i'm nitpicking a very fine effort.
