View Full Version : An interesting development for Linux simmers...

I don't know if anyone from Ubi's noticed this yet, but there's a chap over on the X-Plane forums developing a program to support headtracking devices on Linux. I know that losing TrackIR is the sticking point that's kept a few people at least from migrating over to Linux completely.
Have a look at the project page (particularly the wiki) for details. (http://code.google.com/p/linux-track/)
Here's the forum thread. (http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=38828&st=0)
Anyway, I hope this helps someone out, obviously it's not much use for Il-2 (unless you use NewView, perhaps) due to NaturalPoint's proprietary interface being the only way to access proper head-tracking in the game.
