I done this..taking off from Essex class Carrier in Beaufighter with torpedo...release ur chock, then turn on ur both engines....move carefuly to the end of the carrier using throttle and wheel brakes....then position urself for takeoff (flaps at takeoff pos.)...hold ur wheel brake and push ur throttle to max value.....release wheel brake and go...once in the air, quickly pull gently ur nose up, gears up, flaps up hold ur stick tight....ur in the air http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

one tip for the mission buliders....more funn u will have if u put 2-3 CVEs (escort carriers) than CVs (carriers/big carriers) cause CVEs are easier to sink....

I've managed to get this bird off the deck without having to change position; this was with a torp. and 50% fuel.

Throttle up, chocks away , drop flaps while moving then holding the plane straight as the deck ran out.

Not managed to get an A-20 or B25 up yet but not tried that hard http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

A good way to test if it's possible is to get the AI to have a bash at it; if they make a reasonable job of it (i.e. the props stay more than 1 inch above the water!), it's quite possible that a human may also.

No need for turning to get at the end of carrier. Just move choicks in and out several times and plane will move backwards http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
And it is possible to take off with B25 carring 100% fuel and 3000 lb bombs this way. Use one of fleet carriers like Intrepid, and put max speed in mission builder, 30 kt for Intrepid (16 kt is default speed).

Full flap gets the A-20 off the deck if you leave the engines to wind up for 20 secs or so before releasing the chocks. I even managed to land it on the Lex! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif The A-20 seems not to have contra-rotating engines either, like the wonderfull Beau, so you veer left if the motors are still winding up.

if u guys want some fun, try the 229 :P

the Mosquito, takes of rather easy, without need of extra space, but A20 and B25 need full length
