How do i edit the conf.ini file to show crews on ships?

Open the conf file and scroll down until you come to the

[game] section

-Under eventslog insert the line:


Exit and save, your all done.

It has a considerable frame rate hit when it's enabled, though.

On most ships, the polycount for the crew is about 50% the polycount of the ship itself. For example, crew for Lexington is more than 3000 polygons. That is as much as a small plane!

However, the crew really only shows up for LOD0. For LOD1 and 2, the crew apear as carboard cutouts (like old He-111Z people), and the polycount is negligable. For farther lods, there is no crew.

So there should be a marked performance difference, but only when you are very close to many ships (like flying through a closely packed task force). When you are far away from the ships, no difference.
