View Full Version : Does convergence affect vertical path?

Especially about nose gunners like Bf-109, P-38 etc.
IIRC, in real, convergence affected not only horizantal path but also vertical path of bullets, right?
If so, is it modelled in IL-2? I don't know if it's just my illusion but I feel my trajectories goes a little bit up and down with different convergence range.
I hope to hear your opinions.

I think so. The gun is not aligned with the sight vertically, it is below it. Longer convergence should mean a lower trajectory, but more parallel with the flight path (must aim bit higher), though, especially when closing in. Shorter convergence mean higher trajectory (gun pointing upwards)

The answer is yes.

What setting will cause the steepest angle for the trajectory is different from plane to plane and weapon to weapon.

I wonder what the limit is?

Would setting a convergence of 2 feet turn the P38 into schragemusik? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

u cant set shorter than 100 or larger than 1000.
