View Full Version : Embarrasing for the RAF

Take a look at the able pilots of the RAF:

Seems like the AI don't bother if something else is in proximity to my sub. They just go bombs away and head home for a MAJOR dress-down.
tsk tsk tsk...

Maybe they thought it was a German Destroyer. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

OK, Yanks. Here's your chance to slam the Brits, who are often so quick to call you trigger-happy!

Sorry, got to beat the "Yanks" to the punch;

Simple truth - they are trigger happy!

But, before anyone tries to shoot me down - I will say this for them - I have had the good fortune to fight alongside them in the Persian Gulf and I am glad they are our Allies - 'cos they are the best war fighters going - all that "fire power" and that "keep rolling" attitude!!

I hear you. I was just teasing for bit of fun.

If I may, an old WW2 joke, supposedly around the time of D-Day:

When the RAF comes over, the Germans duck.

When the Luftaffe comes over, the British duck.

When the USAAF comes over, everybody ducks!

Yeah, I knew you were teasing and I like the humour! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif But the saying is still true - well sort of;

True story and yes a little off topic - I apologise in advance http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

During the USA's and UK's latest jolly into the desert together - no prizes for winning guesses as to where! Having just set up for the night 7kms away from said countries border, the saying would become larger than life. Although I respect the USA's Armed Forces I did at one point get a little worried http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif when 2 USMC Sea Cobra and 2 USMC Huey Gunships (fully loaded with ordnance!) diverted from their original flightpath and weaved over to our gaggle of vehicles for a closer inspection! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif With impending rockets and gunfire imbound we very nearly dived into our recently dug shell scrapes. Having satisfied their curiosity the pilots gave a friendly wave and departed over the Iraqi (oops!! I said it now) border looking for targets - while my driver and I sighed a relief and muttering "Bloody Yanks" (not in a cockney accent - both being Welshmen we were not sure if we could manage one!!). While the 4 angels of death skimmed away further into the desert, my driver put the red smoke grenade back to where he found it while I rolled up the Union Flag both still muttering to ourselves "Bloody Yanks!" hoping never to use the pair of said items again!!

Just change USAAF to anything that flies the Star & Stripes!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
