Here's something just for a change of pace that we all need. And BTW, this is my Christmas present to you all. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

This will give all us old-timers a few flashbacks. So sit back, relax, crank up the volume and enjoy. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Hell, I'm 17 and I remember some of these!

Wow! I haven't thought of this stuff since I was a kid. Looking at this brought it all back
to me. Funny, most of my family's dinnerware was
the stuff from the soap boxes, The "silverware" and "china" from gasoline stations, and some of the "crystal" was in the form of Bama jelly glasses. I feel sorry for kids today who are deprived of the 45 played at 78 experience. Now, where did I put my silly straw, because I have a root beer float to demolish!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane, GT!

"No one ever asked where the car keys were
because they were always in the car, in the ignition, and the doors were never locked?"

We would go shopping and leave the house unlocked, and in warm weather leave with unlocked screen doors.

"When being sent to the principal's office was nothing compared to the fate that awaited the student at home?
Basically we were in fear for our lives,
but it wasn't because of drive-by shootings, drugs, gangs, etc."

I have to disagree with this on one point. Our principals and vice principals used heavy paddles and they hurt more than a spanking on my bare fanny. It was the only way to discipline 'bad' students http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I'm 48 and this was throughout the '60s. Its a nice web page... thanks.
