I do agree Rapid Share sucks and is loaded with some nasty spyware. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

This is the X-PLANE Whirlwind, but it's still to be finished yet leitmotiv... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif This is only a movie as it is now and isn't for download yet!

The modeler has allowed me to show you it...

Here€s another animation showing the Whirly in flight and landing€¦

The test model was flown at 260 -70 mph with +7 boost. Some of you will notice that there are some fairings missing at the wing roots and there as yet no mirror, aerials, pitot tube, U/C doors or oleos or split fowler flaps (Just plain split at present as X-plane doesn't do split fowlers...yet).
Because X-Plane models the air flow around the actual plane, a model will only fly if it is designed correctly, or if you copy an existing aircraft€¦ The handling and flight characteristics will be fairly close.

See www.X-Plane.com (http://www.X-Plane.com) for info... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

At present there is no combat or war though... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I thought fighterops (jet sim) was licensing the X-Plane engine to build a combat sim on. Maybe ultimately there will be cross fertlisation on this. It might be nice to have more options.

I can never get my copy of X-Plane to look as nice as the screenshots some produce.

Interesting...nice work so far. Keep us up to date if you'd be so kind.
Inspired me to make a little movie (35Mb-ish) to compare rare Whirly flight sim models...just imagine what we could do with a Whirly made to Oleg's standards...sorry - it's rapidshare again.

Probably best viewed at 50%.
Very first attempt with FRAPS and Windows Movie Maker. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If you are having trouble with the file not opening, try adding the .mov extension to it.

Took some waiting to DL, but really nice. I hope it gets finished.

This thread badly needs screenies.
