View Full Version : Assassin's Creed main site 16+?

First, I know this is going to be closed really soon, so don't care telling me that.

A few minutes ago I tried to acces the main AC site. Instead of getting a nice and warm welcome of the ubidays trailer, I got a "Sorry, but you're not permitted to view these materials at this time."
I was 'wtf...' for a few seconds and then I was 'WTF?!?!?!? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif' I'm *how to say this a bit nice* damm 15, I can decide if I want to view something and if it would "damage" my mind! Here in the Netherlands, they don't even care about age ratings on games, I buy 16+ games all the time. Maby that's different in the US, but here I can buy it, so I want to view it.
If they would just give a little nice message that this game is full of violence and should not be watched by people under 16 years without their parents, ok, but refusing me to watch?
Dammit! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif

EDIT: Wtf... When I do 'www.assassinscreed.com' it works. 'assassinscreed.ubi.com' doesn't :S

i totally agree(maybe cuz im 15 too, i dunno). isnt it annoying when ur parents dont mind, but strangers that make a website do? we have parents 2 annoy us not game developers...honestly.

where is this world getting 2?

thank god over here(UAE)we have the coolest black market. everything is cheaper and no1 cares about age restrictions.ps3 in america costs $599 i believe, plz correct me. here it costs $490. yup thats the 60GB version and american(NTSC).(we also have the japanese 4 a bit cheaper, not sure how much)

i love u god!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

My parents only don't like war games; especially (<- I really need to learn to spell this word) WO2 ones. They gave me Medieval 2: Total War, which is 16+ too.

I didn't, but I would have if I'd know they would set up this.

06-29-2007, 09:48 AM
So just logout. You shouldn't need to be logged in to view a site.

I think the UK site doesn't have the age restriction, but I'm not sure.

When I first saw that thing, I wasn't logged in. So I just wanted to know if I could get in, but I didn't. And they store it (probably in cookies, but I'm too lazy to search for it), so I can't enter it anymore http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif Anyway, www.assassinscreed.com (http://www.assassinscreed.com) just works fine, so no worries here http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

*points finger at face and laughs*

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifi cant help it, it comes with being young http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

DAMN!!! Chikken, you dont lie bout ur age on these things, thats just....just....just...SILLY!! Im only 14, i lie about this stuff all the time, hell, i can get into movies and call myself seventeen, and since i have the height, hair, and iunno, "Look" i can do all that stuff!! And about the runnin, just becuz hes older, dont mean he cant run, im younger and i cant run, but thats just becuz im fathttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif AND I DONT CARE WHAT YOU SAY!!http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Im strong, im good with that!

07-05-2007, 03:07 AM
I think sites shouldn't have the restrictions because know one cares they'll lie but this would get many sites get sued by idiots...

07-05-2007, 03:56 AM

If you Reeeally want to get on... why dont you just lie about your age? seems the sensible thing to do.

07-05-2007, 04:07 AM
As I said, they stored it somewhere, and I'm too lazy too find it. But, as I also already said, www.assassinscreed.com (http://www.assassinscreed.com) just works fine.

07-05-2007, 01:44 PM
If you don't know how to get past an age gate you don't deserve to view the site...

07-05-2007, 10:50 PM
Uh guys...What's the big fuss about? There are tons and tons of websites that do this already; I wouldn't be surprised if there's a law requiring sites to do it depending on the content on the website. In addition to that you guys already basically admitted you lied to get by it anyways so why complain?
