So....who do you support and why?

I'm fan of a few clubs back home, among them - Dinamo.

Of foreign clubs I'm fan of the English championship club Q.P.R., it started back in the 90s; Q.P.R. had decent portion of star players back then......Les Ferdinand and Trevor Sinclair to name a few. They have a nice supporters too, and the rumors are they will be taken over by Flavio Briatore (Italian Formula 1 guy http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)

"I've loved United since I was a kid".

I live in the south, but spent much of my childhood in Manchester. My relations are City fans, makes for some interesting conversations when we meet up.

Busby Babes, Munich, Best, Law, Charlton, Giggs, Keane, Cantona.

Shaky start to the new season, but we'll be up there at the end of it, be sure. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I respect the smaller teams that get into the Premiership and stay there. Too much money in the English game, to be honest, it's hard for the little guys to compete.

Have spent some good nights in a local pub with some of the town's Scottish community watching Celtic.

Like Barcelona and of course any team from Munich, thanks to the ties forged due to the 1958 disaster.

Lived near Q.P.R's ground in London for a short time, used to eat at a Cafe on the Askew Road called 'Bridge that Gap' run by and frequented by their fans - friendly bunch, fond memories.

Probably blasphemous if your a European only sort of soccer fan but Toronto FC is somewhat close to hometown big time soccer team as I can find. Its their first year so I'm rooting for them as the underdogs!

Manchester City fan, got inducted as a child by my father and brother to the usually dubious pleasures of watching eleven men running about incompetently in Moss Side. Currently undergoing an entirely new and unfamiliar feeling of actually expecting to win some games. Very very strange - can't believe it will last...
Lowflyer - i concede we were extremely lucky last weekend, although our defence does rather kick arse at the moment - one of the few positives of the past couple of years. oh and my girlie is a red as well, which makes for interesting derby days!

I wish I knew enough about the many teams to have a favorite. I know I am warming up to the sport you guys call football (soccer to me). I watched a movie the other day. The team centered in the movie started with a "C". Pretty good story line. It was about an under privleged kid from the US named "Munez" getting his big chance to play football in the UK. Whatever the name of that team is, I'll pick it as my fav.

We've the strongest team we've had for seasons. We've got supporters who would follow their club to the depth of hell and back, but do not shy away from letting the players know they've played badly. Won one, lost one this season. But at least we're ahead of Man U!

Get in there Ashton!

Soccer is becoming a big hit in the north Texas area. There are several very good high school teams that often make it to the state championship games, boys and girls. And of course, there are the club teams and teams for kids which are also very popular. Soccer is not(and never will be) as big as the Texas religion of FOOTBALL but it's becoming quite popular with the younger generation.

I'm in my 30s and the only experience playing soccer was in college intramurals. I even scored a goal once! My high school didn't have a soccer team...like most schools back then. But now, all big schools and most medium sized schools have soccer teams. Ah, to be young again!

as for favorites, I'll have to go with hometown FC DALLAS with Houston Dynamo as second choice.
I know, it's only MLS but it's all we got.
I also always cheer for Czech Republic

Where I grew up you were either Red or Blue.

I was very lucky that once I started having enough spare cash and time (and the right contacts) to go, was when United had some of their greatest times. Long may it continue. (although it's started a bit dodgy this season, but that just makes it more fun when they start firing on all cylinders)

They have Sven Goran Erikson as the new manager, he was the last England manager.

I am in the minority in ratin him highly, but I suspect he will do very well.

He did relatively good job with England although I suspect it could be better, but McLaren's results are way below expectations, so in a way it would be better for England if Erikson stayed.

I'm a football orphan.

Born in Wimbledon, used to go to Plough Lane with me dad as a nipper and they were in the third. '88 cup final I was there, rubbish game of football but what an experience.

But now I'm floundering cant follow MK Dons, AFC Wimbeldon not right as I've moved away.

I now live in Norwich and do go occasionally but I mean come on Norwich.

I don't get to see as many soccer games as I'd like. Unfortunately here in the States they don't usually show soccer games on network TV so you need to have cable to get the games. Soccer games don't have enough opportunities for commercial breaks, so the networks don't like them. I really enjoyed watching the World Cup games since they actually broadcast those last summer.

Of course there isn't much room for another sport to become big here anyways. They've already got NFL, Nascar, NBA, PGA, MLB, and 'extreme' sports gobbling up most of the airtime and marketing revenues.

FC Zeljeznicar, the best team in Sarajevo. Actually, they are the underdogs, the big dogs being the FC Sarajevo. But we were champions of bothe the old Yugoslavia and later Bosnia. Guys, you should see the derby between Zeljeznicar and Sarajevo. The whole town is a mess, strictly divided. The are in which I live (lived) is populated by mainly Sarajevo supporters, so I nearly had my butt kicked on many occasions. But once Maniac (Zeljo supporter), always a maniac...
