View Full Version : The character of Altair

It is really interesting that after POP series Ubisoft didnt make a mistake like The Prince resurrection or else. Even though there is no newer developer diaries, I feel that in the end we will have a much better game in our hands.

I was really expecting a great babylon tower. But in POP3, there was only a tower we turn around wildly up. I was greatly disappointed. But by a general view, I was always stunned by the places the prince goes around. I hope in AC the surroundings will be as good as the characters as well.

As far as we know, Altair is a member of hashishin group of Hasan Sabbath who have their base in the city of Alamut. I am wondering if the game is really based on this historical background. Is Altair getting direct orders from Hasan Sabbath?

Altair must be a heavy user of opium as well.So mostly he will be in the effect of opium. So he gets a desire for killing by the effect of drugs, and may be these drugs make a second evil identity in his soul. Killing good people as well. In the game videos we see that Altair is only attacking crusaders which seems rather patriotic. We know that hashishins killed very important people and especially muslims in history, like kings or as well known the Grand Vizier of Seljuk Empire.

And as lastly revealed that the game will also be played in present time, will our assassin be a palestinian?

Idoubt he uses opium because why would he become an assassin if he did not believe in killing. That is what assassins do,they kill, although he is doing it to end the crusade it deos not mean he does not want to kill. he could not become a master assassin if he didn't believe in kiling.

About he trying to put an end to crusaders, I doubt, because we see in game videos that he kills crusaders. and it is rumoured he kills also muslims. So he may not want the independence of Jerusalem. After all Altair may not be a muslim. As there were people living of three religions. He may even be a christian. In the video Altair uses the camouflage of priests. I think he is not religious.
they say the game will be much realistic. To kill a commander in front of the crowd really needs balls. I thought his using opium in the beginning to the mids of the game, to take courage from it, also feeling the bad side effects of opium, may be an unstoppable addiction, will be an interesting option in the game. He will become a master only when he can kill without the help of opium.

"Altair must be a heavy user of opium as well."
maybe he is and thats why the intuition view is what it is.
the hashashin were followers of the drug hashish which in today is called opium (i think) so he probably does

Hashish is made from cannabis, not opium, opium comes from the poppy flower (Papaver somniferum) which then is refined into opium and other opiates like heroin, morphine, codeine etc.
