Hi again..

My compass (center of the bottom right three dials) in all my subs is busted..I can be travelling directly North (0 or 360) yet it gives me a reading of something complrtrly different like 140.. totally out of sysnc!

Is this a bug or glitch? is there a fix for this?
I already installed the 1.4 patch but didnt make a difference. And er.. an accurate compass is kinda critical I'm finding..http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Try at the very top of: http://www.subsim.com/subsim_files/patches2005.html (CA's UBoat Instrument Patch v1)
May sort your problem out.

Thanks for your reply Zunked I need to sit down and really read that properly.. it looks complicated as hell.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Sigh.. I know nothing about modding and didn't really want to become a navigation engineer/technician.. just playing the game itself gives me enough to cope with..

Still I appreciate your reply..

Peace.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

What he's saying is that the mod community has fixed a lot of the bugs/issues with SH3 and has even enhanced the gameplay tremendously. The compass problem that you're encountering can be fixed by using a mod found at subsim.com.

I remember when I first started dabbing in mods it was for NASCAR Racing 2003 season. At first I was apprehensive, but now I'm a mod maniac. These folks have put together some breathtaking files for most PC games out there, all to use for free!

If you are unsure and/or want help with mods in general, post back here. I'm sure the other forum users, myself included, would be willing to help you decide on what's right for your gameplay style.

The long read is just a list of fixes... the mod itself is very easy to install, just refer to the included readme.

Good Luck http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
