I just started ordering the components for a new PC and am wondering when I put it all together, hoping it all fits http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif and I install the Op Sys when I get to Uru how do I get my saved state or games back to where I am on the old PC? I guess I am asking what do I need to save and transfer from the old PC to the new. I am holding off on Uru live so I don't have to move that.

Thanks,

jon

The good thing about Uru Live/Until Uru is that all your progress is saved on the server, not your computer. All you really need to remember is your login name and password. Install UU on your new computer, log onto the server, and you're back to where you were before.

As far as the single-player game is concerned, copy the SAV folder over to the new computer once you install Uru:CC again and you're good to go. (You can also copy the KIimages and MyJournal folders to get your notes and pictures. But the SAV folder is the most important if you want to continue your progress.)

Hi,

Because in medium term I am planning to buy a second pc that will not be connected to the net, I am curious to know which way is the best choice to transfer data from an old one to a new one.

a) Is it better to copy all important files and extra softwares (except the original ones) in my documents and burn a few CDs or

b) do we need a router to share the datas and make copies on the new one ?

Thanks for the help. http://bestsmileys.com/waving/3.gif

P.S. It would be nice to have this "hand waving" smiley added to the present list. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

Jon596 - for details on what goes where, see Uru: Saving Game Progress (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/524109302/m/261104565).

nanoukmetal - you can do either a) or b). a) is cheaper, b) is faster.

These forums are "powered by groupee community" software, and adding a smiley will probably require a software revision. Bearing in mind Groupee's (utterly abysmal) track record of responsiveness to user requests, the chances of this happening are IMHO...slim and none!
