Hello,

Well, its been almost 2 weeks since I have PF (havent have That much time to play many different aircraft provided in PF tho), But do any of You guys ever experienced the damageable cockpit/windshield in the corsair?
I often have zero's coming straight at me and opened fire and suddenly my view turn red... But not a single hole in the cockpit or windshield.

BTW, For IL2 dev team... The damageable cockpit actually a big plus for Me, Havent seen that been done in any sims besides the classic aces series.... Good work.

Are you sure for the cockpit holes?(I do not know that for sure, have never really test that, but if screen goes red and no holes anywhere that is weird). Of course if a/c is not set on fire, that is. About damageable cocpit (I guess that includes in external viewing missing parts, damaged/broke glass etc.) it is excellent idea. I have no PF yet, but I doubt that that feat is in the game now.

quiet a few planes miss this. i think gib did damage for p38/p63 but they wherent added http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

alpha maps on damage are badly done, hence u get black blobs and stuff http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Some of the cockpit damage models weren't included for space reasons and will be here on the patch.

You could have been shot from behind where you can't see or through the armour plating on the seat. You could even be shot in the seat in the backside but I can't see Oleg putting in realistic seat damage. I guess someone one day will whine about it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Yea, NIGHTBARON. I`ve been flying PF awhile now and thinking about it, I`ve NEVER seen any internal cockpit damage, even when hit H to H. Let`s hope the patch fixes it like Philipscdrw says.

No prob, it can happen that you get shot from behind, and screen goes red (I still remember those neat holes on the back of the pilot chair in the pit of my Hurri http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif), but I was actually reffering to the thread poster's problem, he said "Zero get him head on".(if I understand it correctly)

And I was thinking, maybe arcade mode=1 can help. That way when you get shot, you can determine entry trajectory point. That way it should not be hard to determine exact where the enemy burst hit (the pilot) + sometimes, believe or not you can actually achieve HEADSHOT, if you play with arcade mode for a while. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
