"Yaks Over Memel" is an 11 mission campaign featuring the Yak-3 fighter and the elite 18 GIAP in Kurland in December 1944. The Red Army intends to smash in the German position around Memel in preparation for a major offensive into East Prussia. You and your Komrades will assist these operations by flying escort missions for B-25's, Pe-2's, Il-2's and Kobra fighter-bombers. You will also fly recces and free hunts and intercept and destroy any fascist intruders. If you are succesful, you can expect awards and honours from the grateful Party. If you are not...... Well, better to not think about it. At least, your Polkovnik has secured a supply of good quality Amerikan whiskey to calm your nerves after each sortie.

The campaign also includes a fighter-bomber strike in the unpopular Yak-9B jabo and an escort of a Spetsnaz parachute drop by Lisunov transports.

Opposition is provided by JG-51 flying Bf109-14 and -10 fighters and by JG-54 flying Fw190-A8's. There are also sorties by schlachtflieger flying Fw190-F8's in both the ground attack and fighter role. To make the missions more interesting, the LW has been made more competitive than was historically the case and the missions are fairly well-balanced. There will be significant opposition on every mission.

If anyone (like me!!!) is having problems getting the Yaks Over Memel campaign to show up in the USSR Campaign menu after installing it, you will need to put the info.properties file inside the Yak-3 campaign file folder when you install it...when I unzipped the campaign after download from mission4today the info.properties file was outside the campaign folder with the skins...hope this helps!

I had some further comments re insufficient instructions about skins installation. So here's another note:

Pe-2 by Buglord - install in Pe-2 Series 359 folder.
Il-2 by VPmedia - install in Il2-3 folder.
P-39 skin by Canon/UK - install in P-39Q10 folder.
