SERVERS WARS (http://www.french.themotorhead.com/il2/viewtopic.php?t=169)

http://www.french.themotorhead.com/il2/images/laddersmallSERVERS.jpg

Rules of Battle:

"The Right Spirit"
This tournament is designed for those who wish to compete within the spirit that the game was intended to be played. Therefore, all pilots must show respect for each other at ALL times as well as ALL rules. No exceptions. Violations will be strictly monitored by the Judge€s Committee.

Server Team Captains:
Each server team must select a Captain whose online name must be posted as soon as possible. An email addy should also be provided. The Captain will be the main contact person and hold the ultimate responsibility for determining all decisions for his team: their roster, pilot plane selections, coordinating matches, dates and times, ensuring each member is familiar with the rules, etc.

Team Size:
Each team can have a maximum of 15 players, with a minimum of 10 needed to compete. Pilots must specify for which server they wish to fight. A list of players for each team should then be posted by the Server Team Captain before the battle.

Mission Time:
There is no time limit for the battle. When one team reaches the battle objectives, the battle is over and that team wins.

Battle Objectives:

Either team can win by completing either one of the following objectives:

- Kill All Enemy Pilots/Planes

OR.....

- Destroy All Enemy Ground/Sea Targets.

For the current map on which you will be competing:
Ground targets are tanks. There are 12 in total, of which 10 must be destroyed.
Sea targets consist of three ships: one carrier and two destroyers. All three must be destroyed.

NOTE:
If your team kills all the opposing team€s pilots/planes before the opposing team can complete their ground objectives, your team wins.
If your team completes the ground objectives first, your team wins regardless of the pilot/plane count.

Death Kick:
Each pilot has 2 lives. Once both lives have been lost, the pilot will be automatically kicked from the server for the duration of the Match.

Battle Map/Mission:
The map will consist of two bases per team. Each base will be protected by AAA placements.

Server Settings:
Everything switched on except Mini map Path, Speed Bar, and Icons. The server will be password protected during the fight to avoid disruptions. The password will be provided by the Judge before the battle.

Server is FBDeamon Scripted FBDeamon2 (http://www.greatergreen.com/fbd2/)

Icon settings:
Since each team will be able to fly all planes, some form of icon is needed. It will be a friendly, limited icon.

Server Host:
At least initially, all matches will be held on the PROWAR server. Maps will be provided to each team and will also be run on one of the PROWAR servers continuously.

Rules of Battle €" On Line (Addendum)
Outlined below are the additional Rules we have incorporated for competition matches. They are the result of input from many matches and from all competing teams. Their purpose is to provide a clearer understanding of what€s expected for all players to help ensure better game play.

Registering:
All competing Teams must be registered with the Server Competition Committee. All pilots must be registered with their team. This roster should then be posted a minimum of four days prior to the match.

One Hour (minimum) prior to the Match, the two Team Captains and the Judge will meet to verify the list of participating pilots for that day.

Late Arrivals:
A designated start time will be posted for each match. If late arrivals are expected shortly after the designated start time, the warm up period can be extended for up to 10 minutes.

Once the match has started, only those who are on the final roster and PRESENT at the start of the match will be allowed to compete. Late arrivals will not be permitted to enter the game after it has begun.

Chute Shooting:
Chute Shooting is not permitted at any time once an opponent has bailed out. If determined to be intentional by the judge, the offending pilot will be kicked from the game and the killed pilot will be allowed to return.

Ramming/Kamikaze:
Ramming or Kamakaze-ing is not permitted at any time. If determined to be intentional, a penalty will be assessed by the Judge up to forfeiture by the offending team.

Pilot Death:
Once a pilot has been killed, he cannot rejoin the game without permission from the Judge.

Vulching:
Vulching is permitted and can be used as a strategy by either team. You can take out anything on the ground at any time.

Emergency Landing:
Any landing is a landing and it makes no difference where. Just grab a new plane.

Refly/Bailing Out:
If you bail out, you must wait until your pilot touches the ground. You cannot immediately hit refly. (Yes, we have had the problem of pilots being mysteriously killed after bailing out.....suggestion...kill your engine before bailing.)

Connection Speed:
All pilots must have a minimum connection speed greater than 56K.
(Sorry€¦.those with 56K and lower speeds will not be able to participate. We€ve tried and it just won€t work.)

Disconnection:
If a disconnection occurs that is unintentional, the player may return to the game only with the permission of the Judge.

Plane List:
Listed below are the planes that have been selected and agreed upon by the community for competition. (List can be modified as needed.)
Each pilot can select up to two planes from the plane selection list. Each pilot€s selections should be submitted with the team€s final roster.

NOTE:
Planes have been divided into two groups: Carrier and Land Based.
The purpose behind this is to place greater importance on pilot skill, along with more emphasis on defense. You will need to protect your own ships to help ensure an advantage for your team.

SPECIAL:
Currently with the 3.03 patch, once a Carrier has been sunk, planes will still respawn over them, engine running and ready to fight. We consider this to be a bug which we cannot prevent at this time. Until a fix for this problem is made available by the powers that be, each team will be on their honor to not use those planes once their Carrier has been sunk.

You can sign up here by adding your name and indicate wich server you wish to fight for also adding your server to the list or over there at PROWARSERVERS WARS (http://www.french.themotorhead.com/il2/viewtopic.php?t=169)
As soon the pilots names are adding it's going to start very soon.
We will give a choice of some maps to run for the battles.

I'm noting and making the list for each one.

Hesitating between Virtual pilots , Greatergreen , and Birds of Prey http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Virtual pilots is finnish http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
i fly in it for very long , always the same map , but always very good pilots and good atmosphere , no lag , you learn quickly there

Greatergreen , is the first server where i discovered online play a little more than one year ago , maps are very nice , and people too ,so it has my heart choice http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
the only problem is that the server being in USA , i don't have a good ping on it (more than 100 ) , but i get over it

Birds of Prey is excellent server , it's totally Full real , so it's the most immersive server for realistic conditions , and pilots there are very good , you also learn quick there with planes you know well.

I don't know what to choose , i like all three very much , they are the best IMO http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I don't like Warclouds , because the ping is bad for people in europe , the maps are too populated , so some people of my squad just can't run it with their comp, the atmosphere is not that friendly whith a lot of kill stealing , and i am against the banning option as well.

how many pilots per team and who chooses the team?

TheGozr
01-10-2005, 11:26 AM
For now it seams to be 20 pilots per server.

20 vs 20 or 15 vs 15

TheGozr
01-10-2005, 02:45 PM
The Fight will involve DogFights and Ground targets same as the fights during international Competitions. It will require High altitudes fighters, low fighters,Ground/sea attack planes, bombers and escorts.

The team servers will have to train on a given map, get comms and develop some tactics to be able to win a fight.

Some of you that participate into international matches can talk about this more easly than me , during this fights you will be surprise how some forgotten planes came handy and each plane serve a good purpose same as during a real ww2 war.
Pilots fatigue and pumping adrenaline is a big factor as well.

TheGozr
01-10-2005, 08:11 PM
We decided to make it 15 vs 15 for now to get started.

What i need to make it simpler is that someone need to collect names, make a list of their own server's pilots and post it or send it to me.

That way we will start as soon as possible.

Gozr,
Other than the description that you gave already, Is there anymore info on how the competition will work?

is the rules from international Competitions posted anywhere? How will the scheduling work, is some team going to have to stay up all night for this match? I suggest all server post the time zone they are in. I think that will help planning .

I'm trying to round up people and see if we can field a team from FOX3 server. But without knowing more details, we're not sure what type of "talent" to place on the team or if the time will match up at all. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

GOZR post all that great information on competition rules and information on how to access the "practice" server. Competitions are FBD run so you may win by ground targets or plane/pilot kills. After flying a few prowar "exibition" matches I can honestly say that hanging out in the "pubs" does not compare.

Gozr,
Could you check the point where planes spawn on the carriers? On the US carrier, it was just aft of the gun placements. I was not able to takeoff in a default corsair with 50% fuel. I had to turn around and go farther back on the deck before I was succesful.

Is it just me or is the spawn point too far forward?

btw, I don't think FOX3 will have 15 interested so you can probably count it out.

rssmps it is impossible to change the respawn point in In land bases and carriers, the Sims is built that way. You have to turn around and go at the end of the carrier.
