Ok, doesn't matter what difficulty setting i have the game at, doesn't matter what plane I am in, my plane WON'T TAKE OFF.

Adjust flaps for takeoff, prop pitch, start engine, raise power slowly...then WHAT?! the plane just SITS there full power ready to take off...but WON'T MOVE. brakes?! WHAT BRAKES?! Hitting "B" or keeping it pressed does NOTHING doesn't even say "Brakes On" or "Brakes Off". and yes, my controls are default and brakes are set to "B". I even tried assigning another key to it...NOTHING, wheel brakes still do NOTHING. The only way I can take off is hit Autopilot and the plane magically starts moving.

HELP PLEASE! This game has to be THE most frustrating flight sims I have EVER bought. The training tells you one thing, and I follow it down to every single word they say, but the game responds in some other manner.

I'm going to assume here that you're talking about taking off from an aircraft carrier, and not from a land-based runway...

You have to remove your wheel chocks (after revving up the engine to full speed) in order to get the plane to move forward. The chocks are not mapped by default in the game; you have to go into your "Controls" settings and map them yourself.

Hope this helps!

If I'm right you're trying to launch off a carrier. On carrier launches you must have a key command assigned for "chocks away". Otherwise you ain't goin' nowhere. Don't know if the same applies to runway takeoffs in PF since I haven't done one in PF yet. But in FB/AEP there were no chocks on airfield takeoffs.

Then that makes two of us, friend! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I did the very same thing when I fired up the game for the first time...heck, I think almost all of us have!

THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A STUPID QUESTION AROUND HERE!

Yep, I did the same thing. Luckily I had watched the training mission and assigned the keys (remember to assign a key for the arresting hook too) before I did a launch. When I let off the breaks- no go. Then I remembered the chocks. Took off like a rocket.

Nope, I didn't, I've read the readme file. That was a great help, though it did not stop me from (A) crashing into the carriers tower on take off (B) dropping down in to sea in front of the carrier, and being run over by it....
