View Full Version : Oleg! Side-by-Side Cockpit for IJN Aircraft

Hello, Oleg!
If you plan to make IJN Aircraft flyable for players, such as G4M1, H8K1, maybe in the future G3M2, etc., which has side-by-side cockpit arrangement, please keep in mind that its pilot sits on the RIGHT SEAT and its co-pilot sits on the LEFT SEAT.
I do not know this case for the Japanese Army Air Corp because I am not familiar with them, but for the Japanese Naval Aviation, the above mentioned arrangement is correct. Complete opposite to the arrangement adopted for USN, USAAF, RAF, etc.
Therefore, if you select to fly G4M1, your pilot position should be the right hand side seat of its cockpit, not the left hand side seat shown in the case of B17, B25, etc.

Kind Regards,

That's a good point. I love all this information that has started floating around the forums about the Japanese aircraft since the release of PF. Very cool.

Common practice for most JP bombers was to have a third "commander's" seat behind the 2 pilot positions

Kinda like the Cylons had in battlestar galactica

I think IC team is already aware of this detail.
Check out, in game, a formation of Betty's and you will see the right one, of the two front seat crew members, tracking with his head the leader of the formation, meaning in (FB/PF terms)he is the pilot.

Cool! I didn't know that!
