I haven't tried it yet, maybe i should give it a whirl, since I dont have Track IR.

Do people still recommend it/use it/like it?

What were the alternatives to Track IR, the ones that you can use a webcam (this way i wont only use it to sell myself online http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif)

Personally I didn't like NewView. It was a bit jerky and I lost frames. I much prefer FBviewPlus. It works a treat and is much more intuative to set up and adjust.

no, it's glitchy and inaccurate, but CHEAP http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

actually, after tweaking it a little bit, I have a good time with it, using one bright LED as a position indicator on my earphones. I didn't like it until I realized that TrackIR needs to be tweaked and re-centered from time to time, so I also re-center freelook very often, works okay for now, will replace it with TrackIR when its price goes down

I use newview with the cam2pan.

With tweaking it works great. This is why I have not gone the Track IR route, because I can't see what advantage it would give me at the moment. Maybe when Bob is out and it has the additional head movements.

Only problem I can't get it to work in Lomac at all.

Those programs will work well enough to get the idea of how it...could...work. It will only make you want TIR even more http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

What I'm really looking for is something for Over Flander Fields that lets me look around with a mouse, the same way we can in the Il-2 series (can't afford tir).

Is there such a thing? All previous enquiries have met with silence http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

You know how you can move the mouse around in Il-2, and it pans the camera as if you are moving your head?
What I was wondering is if OFF can do this or there is any 3rd party software that will allow you to do so.

Saving this thread again from page 2 oblivion.
Before I spring for a copy of CFS3, can you use the mouse to look around in OFF?

Someone must know http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Same reason as I have for not converting to TrackIr. Cheap, 9,95$, and smooth.

No go with Lomac tho http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif. Worked pre-Flaming cliffs tho. Now only with mouse view enabled but its not as smooth.
