So i know there is people that read much more than me about flight opereations during WW2 and i need help from them finding informations abour possible mission over the city of Bregenz ( Austria ).
I know that the group "Champagne" made a misson over there the 1 of may 1945 to att a german command post thinking general Kasselring was there.

so if you have any other info pls share it with me .

Unlikely an Allied group was named this

More likely an operation name, or a radio code for the group

More than likely, it is a fact.

GC 1/5 "Champagne" was a Squadron of Jabo supporting the 1st French Army in the last months of the war, flying P-47. Given that they flew from Amberieu and were attacking targets in Germany,, it is possible that they made this attack on Bregenz.

Beat me to it, PBO, I was about to write it was a French unit.
