Poor quality public housing. It's a disgrace! To think folk actually live in sheds like those.

Me being Irish, most people think I should be running around in a kilt with my face painted throwing swords. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif Then I have to remind them that kilts are of Scottish decent and that Braveheart was as well Scottish they usually STFU at that point and ask me how I feel about Guiness. Back to my shanty now.

Nope it is actually a boarding school...... Stowe School http://www.stowe.co.uk/

nice school isn't it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

http://www.isbi.com/isbiimages/p5118.jpg

It is open to the public though

http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-vh/w-visits/w-fi...lace/w-stowegardens/ (http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-vh/w-visits/w-findaplace/w-stowegardens/)

Stowe House is on English Heritage's current list of buildings at risk, and on the World Monuments Fund list (2002) for the 100 most endangered sites of significance worldwide. His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, who honoured Stowe House by a visit in May 2001, expressed approval for "restoring what is certainly one of Britain's finest 18th century houses and conserving it in perpetuity for the benefit, not only of this nation, but for all lovers of civilization, taste, fine architecture and the English landscape".

No wonder all the water's leaked out of that reservoir, look at all the sodding cracks in it. By the way, the word 'reservoir' looks suspiciously Gallic to me, we should have an Academie Anglais to sort this stuff out and give it a good English name like bigpond or whatnot.

Most countries in the world would build their reservoirs out of concrete, but not the UK, that is some serious crazy paving they have laid down there, I feel sorry for the poor bugger that has to grout it all......

You've got a drought in Kent! Thats bloody awful, think of all those unwashed Bentleys. Tell you what, you start laying a pipe north, we'll start laying one south and we'll meet you at Coldstream.

Recognised it at once. Back in the 70s I completed a large scale survey of Stowe for the Ordnance Survey. I used vertical air photos rather than obliques like yours, but I would even been glad of them as the base map was dated 1892 or thereabouts!

Cheers!

I don't see the hovels the serfs live in. If they're too far away they won't get to safety before Dux shows up with the looters!

A good Lord would better protect his squatters...be sure.

we aim to please, serfs hovels as requested, but we I am afraid do not build any smaller in the UK.. we also surround them with trees to keep the flies down, ask Hotspace, his is like a fresh cow pat on a warm day... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

No was written off, and we have not got a replacement yet http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif it was sold on by insurance company to some turkey that said he was going to rebuild it, to be honest it would have been cheaper to find a storm damaged fuselage where the wings had gone but it was ok and swop it all over.... he came up with a figure to rebuild it and a time period to do it in........ from 25 years in the job i knew you couldn't even repaint it in the time period he had worked out, let alone rebuild it and the price he had in mind was pure fantasy......
