Hi,I have looked at the track ir system and it looks great. Before I buy has anyone had any experience with the dual or triple monitor systems from Matox? I see that Il2 1946 is supported but its a new product to me.

this is not il-2 but you can see the use of matrox head2go:

If you have the cash and space, 3 projections monitors could be set up edge to edge so there would be no frames.

If I had cash and space, I'd be Hugh Hefner's pool cleaner.

I thoughty about getting the tripple head a couple years ago but if you look at that video, you can see that you can get pretty much the same thing with a big screen lcd.. As long as you dont mind sitting that close at 1920x1080 resolution.

and be aware that using 3 monitors with the 3H2go has a bug with il2, where the left monitor will have a black flashing square (about 4 x 4 inches in size i believe)

there are some threads on various forums discussing that bug, and there is no solution to it at the moment. there is also no indication the bug will be fixed in the final 4.09 patch oleg will still release, so its unlikely EVER to be fixed for il2.

IMHO - Dont go there - get your self a good widescreen and be alot happier.

Had TH2GO , hated it, sold it , bought WideScreen and much better !

See my other post for full rant / opinion.

at this point really not worth it my friend. Not enough support- lots of issues , big FPS hits and bottmom line not worth buying several monitors for. Trust me

another problem with using 3 screens next to each other right now is that il2 (and most games), cant do "true widescreen" resolutions.

in most cases games still use the 4x3 or 5x4 resolution, but cut the top and bottom off the image to make it display on your 3 screens (in the same way that it does it on a single widescreen, where it cuts a strip of the top and bottom)

the problem with having to do this for 3 screens next to each other, is that you probably will be pushing 2x the pixels that are actually displayed on screen, because the pixels off-screen that you dont see are still having to be created by your gfx card and pc.

the result is that you need a monster pc to be able to run decent frame rates as well

btw, like somebody pointed out in the other thread, you can use ultramon (the prog to manage multiple displays in windows) to do a very similar thing to matrox 3htgo, so try it out first http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
