Finally made it to Oberst in my current DC game and I was wondering how to get the rest of my flight to takeoff after me instead of waiting until I am nearly across the front line before they think they might like to join me?

They won't. The AI follow strict protocol and warm up the engine first, no matter if it's raining bombs or not.

Any idea how long you have to wait for them to warm up, or should I just look at my own temp gauge and wait till it stops going up before taking off?

When I am in lead I start my engine, drop flaps, lock tailwheel, get my map up and resized, close the map, takeoff - then ALWAYS come back and circle the field until my flight is airborne. Once they are up I'll turn on course, then throttle back a bit until everyone has caught up before driving on hard to the target.

Well the AI surely take their time, but how about getting one over them by doing a proper (well as far as possible in IL-2) pre-flight yourself before getting airborne? I used to do that - mags, RPM check, flaps cycle, everything - and at least those AI buggers always waited patiently for me to finish... unlike some peeples I flew online with back then! Takes about 90-120 seconds before they wake up. This is one of my biggest http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif of offline play. I would like to start at my hanger..

+1

But then again I'm a bomber guy, and as such, a nerd. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
