View Full Version : getting technical

Ok, so I've put the game on hold at E/B Games, ans I'm goint o pick it up tomorrow. I was wondering about all those patches. Considering that I am one of THE most computer inept people on Earth, I was wondering if you people could help me.

1) There are TONNES of updates. Do I have to download them ALL since January 2004? If not, I'd like to get the proper patches updated - especially the ones with the new a/c (like the Spitfire Mk.VIII, one of the motivations making me buy this game... it's hard to find an accurate game depicting the Spitfire properly).

2) In order to play online or to download these patches, do I have to buy more expansion packs?

Thanks all for your help. It's greatly appreciated!

Post number two on this forum is the thread labeled "Correct Patch Order - Make sure you do it right!" by Tully. That'd be where you'd find the correct order.

If you are buying the 1946 DVD pack then no need for patching. If you aren't...I've gotta ask why not. If you want to play online you'll need to be up to date...obviously you can't fly with people who have different objects (new planes and such) loaded in their games.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Find my missions at Flying Legends (http://www.flying-legends.net/php/downloads/downloads.php?cat_id=19) and Mission4Today.com (http://www.mission4today.com).

Ah yes... the 1946 pack. How i wish I could buy that. Unfortunately, my retailer doesn't have that in stock yet and I'm not allowed to pre-order one. Maybe when I get to the ripe age of 18... O well... I'm just going to play offline missions anyway, since I'm pretty sure another expansion will come out again after the 1946 pack, and I'm not nearly good enough to play online yet... I'll have to learn to play using the mouse too, as my joystick is destroyed and I haven't the powder to buy a new one.

Thanks SO MUCH Ice... You are truly THE dude I'm going to whenever I need help, that is, if you don't mind lol. Time to grab my Spitfire 8 and rid the skies of those nasty Axis fiends!

Check out the thread on offline campaigns. The user-made campaigns are better than the ones that came with the game.
