View Full Version : Is there a tool for quickly editing Mission Descriptions?

05-19-2008, 10:06 AM
I want to go through a about 100 missions and edit their Name, Short, and Descriptions, as well as, the filenames.

Using the Game's FMB will take forever. I am using notepad, but also takes a long time. Is there a tool that lets you browse missions and edit them quickly? Or is notepad the best I can do?

Thanks again!

PS: For Devs: It would be nice in BoB if we could edit the Mission Names and Desciptions in the Multiplay interface IMO.

Quick mission tuner.
Dunno about filenames, but after opening a mission from a folder, you can edit that one and the other missions in the same folder.
You can also edit things like other flights, their skins, their planes and their skill, aswell as a few other things.
It can be a little slow to load up, but after that it runs just fine.

Hope that helped. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks for the link. Looks like it has lots of really neat features, and I do like making variations of missions where QMT will really speed up the process!

Hmm.. I was really wanting to edit the Name, Short, and Long Descriptions, but I don't see that the QMT let's you do that.

Anybody else?

Never mind. I found that you have to Right-Click the mission in the list to get that option. Thanks...

So far QMT seems pretty buggy. Every time I start it, it starts to run a setup program to reinstall itself. I click cancel about 10 times then it loads.

I Converted some campaigns to coop missions and have renamed and moved the folders. It is now pointing to a non-existent mission folder. And when I click the Directory button to select another folder it hangs and then crashes. I cannot figure out where it stores the path to that folder in the registry or app folder, so I cannot manually fix it. So, I recreated the original folders that it is looking for and restarted, but it still hangs and crashes. Arrg....

I use QMT all the time and never had any bugs

Quick Mission Tuner works great for me too, and lets you change the discription, file name, and lots more; all really quick and easy. I have used it over a hundred times with little problem. Since it wants to reinstal you may be activating the set up .exe by mistake.
