View Full Version : Good online campaign

Good evening fellows,

Lately my interest has been sparked by online maps where one's actions have consequences in following missions. I cite Na_Kane_Pono as an excellent example, but I'd love to have a bit more choice between possible scenario's. A SEOW in coop form would be great too.

Anyone has some useful information on this? I would be most thankful.

Na Kane Pono has got a number of different scenarios, you can switch between them with a chat command easily. However not all of them are active any longer. See more details here (http://web.t-online.hu/rnzoli/IL2DSC/stats-coop-soda.html), including flyable aircraft types.

A similar, Lowengrin's DCG-based server is 214th.com, see the campaign set here (http://web.t-online.hu/rnzoli/IL2DSC/stats-coop-214th.html#001_DCG_WestBoB40).

Regarding SEOW campaigns, that requires squadron membership more often than not. However, many squadrons are willing to take on OK pilots after some familiarization period, no need to be a full member. But being in TS during mission etc, is mandatory there.

Thank you rnzoli!

If I recall correctly, you're the one behind Na Kane Pono? I noticed some campaigns were no longer flyable, and that's why I was looking for something else. But thank you a lot anyway for hosting Na Kane Pono so far, I've had some great experiences on it.

Most welcome, but actually, it is MOH_Soda hosting the Na_Kane_Pono server.

I am only behind the co-op controller software, which is just one of the components in his total solution. It is available on a limited other servers, like the aforementioned 214th.com, plus 102nd_coop_ded, ITA-SEOW etc. The chores of running NKP server and the brilliant DCG campaign design on it has to be credited to MOH_Sode. Although a number of campaigns are in finished state, he has told us that soon new campaigns are coming with 4.09-specific aircraft as well.

If you fly there again, make sure to try the new DSC RECON command for getting mission intelligence report on what is where (advancing troops etc.), so instead of just flying as a pilot, you can actually override the DCG "headquarters" and command your flight against any other target in the mission. This can have a bigger effect on the campaign than just doing the duties.

Further up in the pipeline we see the potential for a "revolutionary" DCG option, allowing experienced pilots to request information on ground troop and sqaudron strenghts and even to give soft requests to the DCG "headquarters", by requesting weapon loadout changes, transfers to/from airfields, stopping and starting advancing of troops etc. That would be quite interesting and some sort of reconciliation of the oppposing concepts behind DCG and SEOW: defeault planning done by DCG, but with player ability to influence the planning. This way, things will start to resemble a nice strategy game, combined with the adrenlin rushing horror of flying dead-is-dead missions http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
