I have searched for AAA friendly fire but find nothing for PF.
So I thought I'd ask: Can friendly naval AA damage my aircraft?I haven't found anything by searching and nothing in the manual. Is it something that can be changed in the conf.ini? And there isn't any damage from friendly a/c either?
Or maybe I have missed something.

Thanks in advance,
Mjollnir

Most definitely yes, I flew in between a friendly detroyer and the shore target it was aiming at and took a 5" shell the other day. I have also been hit many many times by other friendly fire, it's part of war and the game.

Actually in real life the friendly batteries would get jumpy and aim for friendly aircraft from time to time.

been hit in crossfires while I've been chasing an enemy aircraft while the friendly AA/AAA is also firing at him!

ok just wonderin if maybe something was outta whack cuz I have led following enemy aircraft into a friendly maelstrom of bullets yet I have never received any damage from friendlies.I thought maybe I was lucky so I have been trying more and more to see what the aa crews chance of hitting me especially at distance when target recog could be extremely difficult but even so they rarely if ever actually hit me.So that leads to me wondering is target acquisition(?) modeled for friendly a.i.?And if so what are the percentages and at what dstance are they for sure you are an allie and not enemy?I mean a radar especially ww2 vintage only told you so much about that blip.

I believe the AI in the IL2 series always knows whether you are friend or foe, regardless of range etc (even if you choose a skin with enemy markings). Consequently you will only be damaged by friendly AAA if they accidentally hit you whilst firing at an enemy.

So...

Is there a way to turn it up some? Or is that simply not an option?Seems to me that flying through AA regardless if the cannons firing are friendly the shells would have the same probability of hitting you than anyone elses.Especially when one leads them into the wall.
But if it is not alterable thats cool just an observation thats all.Besides who needs that when we have perfect water?!?!? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

I think each gunner in Port Moresby has claimed me as a "probable" now. The flak gets that intense on those air raids and my crate always gets holed.

One server I frequented had a AAA mounted very close to the respawn apron.

Myself and others would delight in doing high speed passes at zero altitude causing the AAA to frag their own as they engaged us http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

ok thanks guys!
Just wish I could set gunners to green-early-war- shoot-at-anything status,mid-war or late war taget id efficiency.Would be great to see me lead a zero into a barrage yet neither of us came out!
