I brought this up a few months ago but after a few gameplay video's it is a bit disappointing. First of all most video's show Ezio fightting or free running through streets that seem lifeless. The crows like in AC2 is no where near as interactive as the AC1 crowd and it seems as if there are very few numbers.

Example watch this video, it has some gameplay of capturing a Borgia Tower and some rooftop free-running.

As someone who actually has the game currently, I can tell you he either starts off in the Antico or Campagna regions. Since those regions are filled with fields and ruins, the population on the streets is much smaller. As you move farther into Centro or even Vaticano you will see a more dense population in the streets. Hope that helps.

in one of the dev diarys it states that the streets get more lively when you free them from the borgia.

You know... I was thinking about this just the other day. I was remembering how I marveled at how Altair would turn himself to walk through the gaps between people in a crowd.

I think you're right about there being less people to populate the streets. I wouldn't call them "lifeless," but I also wouldn't call them bustling either. I hope this is only due to Rome being slightly destitute in the beginning of the game.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are less people because now you can blend within groups. More processing power used up to add that feature means less people to populate the streets with. I could be wrong, though.

I just don't understand why the AC1 crowds are not just brought back.

Did you see that rooftop guard with the arquebusher? He certainly has a quick draw ^^

The crowds of AC 2 and AC: B are better tbh. They do more than just walking or complaining that they are sick and hungry...

The Ac1 crowds weren't that great, all they did was stand there, with the beggers, drunks and crazies always messing me up. I've seen gameplay where the crowds in ACB actually hold some of the soldiers so that it's easier for Ezio to attack him.

What was so great about AC1 crowds exactly?

I loved the fact that there was one massive crowd that Altair walked through. Beggars just like minstrels from AC2 were annoying but they would throw rocks at you when you tried to climb a building. The drunks, although I hated them at points added a realistic dimension to the bustling streets. That realism wasn't as strong in AC2 in the streets in my opinion but everyone can argue against that. I was watching a video the other day and saw when the map came up and in the legend I was happy to see some old features from AC1 being brought back.

Thanks SlimeDynamiteD for the sig!

Game comes out tonight. Buy it, play it, beat it, then judge it. Don't just go off from gameplay that was relatively close to the beginning of the story http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Wel, look at it this way, if you are being chased by about 10 guards after an assassination and there are massive groups of people in your way. you will have to slow down to shoulder charge them. If you go by rooftop, you are chased by the rooftop archers and maybe shot. I hope my point is shown. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I think they had good crouds in AC2 since there was enough to hide in but not to much that you couldn't run. But no one should jude lets just all play and report what we found out later like tomorrow.
