Hi all,

Just an informal poll on what is the max amount of kills that you, as a player, have gotten on a campaign mission before you yourselves were shotdown and killed! With max realism settings I got 8 kills with an ME 109 E4 before being shot down. Not bad...for a lady pilot : )

Hi and wellcome to the forums! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
I believe my personal record was on the Finnish campaign flying the B-239 (man is that plane fun to fly!)
Not counting the crash on takeoff on the first mission which I then reflew, I got 16 kills and 5 ground targets destroyed, before my pilot got wounded and I missed the rest of the campaign.
The settings were full real exept external view and speed bar.

Being shotdown and crash / bail out doesn't count as killed as long as you survive. I usually stop playing a campaign when I'm "killed" and I don't refly missions.

My record was in a Leningrad campaign in a Bf109, something like 12 aerial victories and two dozen ground victories.

I'm currently flying the "North vs. South" campaign for both sides and my US pilot just got killed with only 5 kills in the third mission. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Actually welcome.

Normally 10-30 air kills before I get killed somehow, usually through stalling, over zealousness(crashing into bogey) or bomber rear gunner killing me.

23 flying a Lagg 3 during Leningrad.

5 109 E-4's
2 109 E-7's
4 109 F-2's
7 Ju-88's
5 B-239's

Killed by my own airfields AA as I tried to drag 3 109 E's through the killing zone. To low to bail in time. I hate when that happens.

I stopped keeping trak quite some time ago. I have read some fantastical claims on the boards especially about breaking Hartmanns record. I take them with a grain of salt roughly the size of a beachball. There are to many ways to die in this simm and Hartmann didn't have a refly button.

I always have just enough fuel to arrive at the scene of my crash.

Currently I am at 16 aerial, and 72 ground targets flying the BOE P-47 campaign with no deaths and full real other than speed bar. I will knock on some wood after this post so as to not jinx myself.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Before I had to hit refly? Maybe a dozen.

In one single mission? Five G.50s in my La-5. It was actually hard, because I had to shoot quick, the rest of my squad was wiping out the G.50s faster than I though possible.

Still making too making too many silly mistakes to get that far without being killed.

Just now I was flying this Hurricaine Mk1 mission and I was shooting down everything in sight. I smoke this Emil and then my engine conks out. I'm over friendly territory but too far from any allied airfield. I can't start the engine and I'm losing altitude fast. I find an open space and make a good emergency landing where I wait for the engine to cool down.

All my requests for help are going unanswered... my flight has left me for dead and this 109 is cruising around waiting for me to make my move.

Now, if I was sensible I would have stayed put. This guy was smoking bad and would have crashed soon and earned me another kill... but no. Stupid me decides to take off and see if I can take him down and RTB.

No sooner am I off the ground than he's right behind and tracer is whistling by my windscreen. I shake him off, but my airspeed is too low... I stall and can't get out of it.

I'm dead.

Never made it past the second or maybe third mission. Map icons only, I hate navigating. Most of the time I get captured behind enemy lines. I usually take a few of them with me http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

"So when Diogenes perceived that he was greatly excited and quite keyed up in mind with expectancy, he toyed with him and pulled him about in the hope that somehow he might be moved from his pride and thirst for glory and be able to sober up a little. For he noticed that at one time he was delighted, and at another grieved at the same thing, and that his soul was as unsettled as the weather at the solstices when both rain and sunshine come from the very same source."

Makes it a bit more fun to keep track this way, and compare yourself to others.

I've only flown one campaign on full realism settings and I only lasted 7 missions and made 1 kill (Ju-88). I was about to add a Bf-109 to my tally when his wingman came up behind me and took my wing off and I was unable to bale out.

I've shot down 8 planes in 8 missions with my I-16 in the Leningrad campaign, before I had to bail and got captured. Contiued on the campaign, and have now 27 missions and 29 planes down without beening killed again! I'm very satisfied with that result!

39 kills/49 missions in 1941, flying 109f2 and f4. External wiews on (but really only used to admire own plane on transit flights), icons on. Promoted from oberfeldwebel to hauptmann, ritterkreutz. Killed either by my own flak ahead or a Lagg in my 6...
