My nephew has gotten a new computer and has discovered this game thru me(I have an older machine with Windows ME) his machine is new and has Windows XP. Any tips on what I will need to do to make FB/AEP run well. I know how to tweak ME but XP is a mystery!!! Thanks.

The Black Viper site is an excellent resource. You should also check Luckyboys Complete Users Guide.
The link is below my sig pic, "Knowledge Is Power".

Just be absolutely sure to do a CLEAN install. NOT an upgrade. That means completely reformatting the hard drive. Back up any valuable files to CD first.

Very good move by the way. I agree with Me being the worst mess of an OS ever.

LOL ... ME may not have been the greatest OS ever ... but sure as hell isn't as virus prone as XP is ... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

you want a tip?

Complete all your hardware upgrades first!!!

XP has a way of recognizing were it was installed, if you make to many upgrades you wont be bale to access the IDE, and have to do a fresh install and call M$ for permission to activate again.

other than that...best damm OS ever http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

ME the worst ever? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Man, its the best out there if you have an older computer, say runnning a CPU under the 1.5 Ghz. It needs some tweaking, but when it works its great. Some were unlucky with it because of hardware conflicts I think.. but man, its not the worst ever, for sure. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

And, better go for windows 2000 on a newer computer, XP is not the way to go if you ask me. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

XP is not virus prone, it's the software you use in it thats prone to virii. Using Outlook, Word and IE is what causes the problems. You have to use 3rd party programs like Mozilla, Eudora and WordPerfect/Lotus. MS is a big joke when it comes to software not relating to an OS.

WinMe, yuk! I cringe everytime a friend brings me their PC to fix and it has WinME on it...usually an OEM install. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

If WinXP wasn't around, I'd probably still be running Win98SE, lol.

The services info in BlackViper's guide is very helpful and WinXP is just a more stable and faster Win98SE. It supports tons more hardware, has all the built-in features for viewing zip files, images and such, right out of the box.

Currently running WinXP Pro and I've never looked back. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

For tips and tweaks, just google up "WinXP Tips" or "WinXP tweaks" or the like and you'll find more information than you can handle in one night, hehe.
