What I want to ask people on this forum is about these fan-dango 5:1 Surround Sound cards. Basically do they make a difference? Are they a pain in the arse to setup?

I couldn't have surround sound in my computer room the missus would go spare, but the helpful chappie down my local shop shown me some surround sound headphones. So I got interested and was thinking of getting some.

Does it make a difference to the engine sounds? At the moment my Hurricane sounds like a lawnmower on steroids whereas the Bf109 sounds like it could be real - not that I have ever heard a 109 engine. Well, I did once but it was sooo long ago.

Answers on a postcard...

Well, I have those headphones (Theater 6) and it's really good when you hear sounds from your back! I'm really happy that I bought them!

yay.... some other people than me bought the Zalman headphones (Theater 6)... I like them too but I got the 5.1 Channel Headphone Amplifier ZM-RSA
http://www.quietpc.com/uk/audio.php#zmrsa

as well - it does improve things a bit, being able to control the output is a plus

Expensive, but not as expensive as a dexcent set of 7.1 speakers for my audigy 2 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
