Wow, I wonder if this will start attending airshows. It'd be cool to get to see a Mig-3 for real.

When I first started playing Il-2 I got straight into a Russian campaign and those Mig's were the first decent plane I got to fly. Ever since then I've always liked them. Great to see one flying again for real.

Definitely one of my fav fighters.......good enough to fly fast and catch everything, but crappy enough to be a peashooter.

Yeah, a great plane, though somewhat difficult to master in our game IMHO. Or maybe I'm just tEh suXX0rZ http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Nice to see one getting off the ground IRL too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Great plane, though inferior to its opponents of 1941. Thanks for the article link Christian, it is moving to see something lost forever getting back to life. Too bad that MiG destroyed the drawings for "space problems"...

Nice! I like flying the early MIGs sometimes.

Good to see another classic find new life http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

As others have said, would be great to see this one 'in the flesh'.

It's amazing how it really looks better than the example in the game. The wings look smaller and shorter too. I understand how the cowling looks different due to there being an Allison engine fitted rather than the original. But everything else looks dissimilar too. The one in the sim is is an ugly duckling.

I think they found one near complete Mig-3 (airframe without engine) from a scrap yard some time ago, think I saw a picture somewhere.

That replica probably flies much better than the original; the engine alone is some 200kg lighter minus the armour, guns etc.

Titles a bit misleading, these are new builds or replicas. But it's great, chock one up for private enterprise and ownership of "flying" war birds.

You'd never see these I-16's, I-153's, Yak's, or these Migs in any shape or form except for those guys who put their finances and hard work into them.

So much for museums, they're a place for planes to die and rot.

Did anyone else catch that bit about MiG throwing out the original plans due to 'lack of space'? What a historical loss.

Yeah! It would be great if it made it my way for WW2 Weekend in Reading. Thanks for posting!
